Hacked

Ugh. I noticed an uptick in spam registrations on the forum a while back and took a few preventative measures to decrease my irritation at finding/deleting/banning them. That may have frustrated whoever was doing it, because shortly after, bam — the entire website went down. I slowly got it back up and running but there were still vestiges of the hacking — some of the forum links led to spam sites, some files were missing, etc. After cleaning up all of that, I spent some time hardening the website and forum and hopefully — fingers crossed — that’s an end to it for a while. But I’m no expert on internet security best practices.
I have no idea how a tiny website for fans of WFRP got on some script kiddie’s radar but it’s been a huge hassle. I can only hope that’s the end of it for a while.
