Scenario contest?
Depending on when you hold it I'd be in. Perhaps a theme, like the scenarios should feature Ubersreik from the Starter Set, or is that too restrictive?

There's no rush, but I would prefer 4e scenarios to support the new system. I like the idea of a theme to the contest. Hmmmm.
Prizes might include: 4e Collector's Edition, Marienburg: Sold Down the River (complete with map), Dwarfs: Stone & Steel, maybe a complete 1e Enemy Within set? I don't know, just spitballing.

Sounds very cool but can't promise anything.
How about edition/rules-agnostic scenarios but say they have to be based on the adventure seeds in Adventures Afoot in the Reikland? That way it's tying into the new edition, but those of us who don't play it can still take part. Just a thought.

A question on edition neutral, how does that tie in with stats and such for monsters and NPCs? Do you omit the rules and stats for various thing inside an adventure or what do you mean with "edition neutral"?
Exactly, just leave out the stats and specific rules and add a note for the reader of the scenario that something should be a hard encounter or an easy encounter, and then let the prospective GM insert something appropriate for his party.
One caveat is that specific or special rules should be included. For instance, if you have a scenario where the PCs are going up against an octopus mutant with a mass of tentacles instead of arms, add a blurb about being able to make 2 grapple attacks that deal a damage 5 hit each turn.

I think Chuck's initial idea was to create some new 4e adventures as beyond the two published adventures and the starter set pdf there isn't a lot out there.
4e scenarios aren't the most mechanic heavy although the system is crunchy. So I'm in favour of them being 4e statted. But that's just my 2c.

Here’s what I’m thinking: if I can get Cubicle 7 on board (I think they offered some prizes for a previous reddit competition), we’ll do 4e. If not, edition-neutral is good by me.
Now I just need to figure out how to get Cubicle 7’s attention.

Cubicle 7 was happy to help out, the main restrictions are that it can only be WFRP used in the entries, no other systems but not limited to 4E, and you should be making sure that there's no piracy happening on Winds of Chaos. That's the terms I'm working on and frankly I've no issue with them. The help was purely the prize, it's easy for them to 'sponsor' something but running it themselves needs oversight from GW.
I will say don't hedge your bets of a Collector's Edition, there's only 1986 of them and I'm doubting anyone is giving up a copy. I'm definitely not! Personally they offered a signed copy of the Core Rulebook, and now you could also get the Starter Set in physical. Fatshark was also very happy to hand me a 4-pack of Steam keys to Vermintide 2 which surprisingly was the last prize anyone wanted.
As a general warning avoid any prizes that are too heavy, because postage is a bastard and rather expensive. The pendants were by labour and parts about £30-40, and the postage was about £15 each.
Restrictions are always good, in the case of Five-Page Fiction it's a limit on length for two reasons; 1) it makes it more about quality than quantity, 2) quantity takes a long time to judge. Even something like a 25-30 page limit is something I'd recommend, don't let anyone just runaway it.
If you specifically went after adventurers I would be pretty cool with that, I delibrately picked Five-Page Fiction to be something that's not like what Cubicle 7 is likely to do and previous license holders have done. That's just a personal request, focus on different areas. Also why it's in December, when these things are usually held over the summer.
If you're interested I could message Andy on Discord (he's on the Rat Catcher's Guild) and bring it up with some contact details so he can get back to you.

I would love it if you could hit Andy up! It’s nice to hear that they might not limit the scenarios to 4e so more people could be involved. There’s no piracy on the site (or allowed on the forums) so we’re clear on that score. Thanks for any help you could give!
