Regarding the unit die

Hello there!
Last session our group got into a quick discussion whether the unit die goes from 0-9 or from 1-10 and we couldn't find the answer in the rules. For instance in regard to a Damaging weapon or using the talent Attractive that lets you swap the actual SL for the number on the unit die.
An example could be if you swing your bastard sword and roll a 30 on your attack. Is that a 10 SL or a 0 SL if you decide to use the unit die?

Best regards

Per the core rule book (page 6), that would be a 10. Yes, Damaging and Impact weapons are scary.

EDIT: Sorry if I sounded like a pedant just then. I'm used to dealing with rules lawyers that need to see rule in the book before they see logic or reason....

Hi Jack! Thank you so much for your reply!
I personally agree that it should be a 10 but am having a hard time convincing our game master that my long bow is that dangerous...
Btw I don't think that it is stated all that obvious on page 6. The problem with the unit die is that it is normally regarded as a 0-9 die (for instance a roll of 40 means that the unit die is a 0), but in the case where is functions as a single d10 it functions as a straight 1-10 die. But it doesn't specifically mention that on page 6.

Yeah, I see your point. But, as a GM, I read it as anytime there is a standalone "0" result it is read as a "10". Just don't make a fuss and argue with your GM. At the end of the day it's their call, and if they're running WFRP instead of 5e, they've got to be pretty cool.

Also, if you are doing less damage, then so are the big nasties trying to murder your character.
