Hi all, I have spent some time creating a playlets dice-pool system for wfrp 2nd edition.

Rules are here:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1FCpDy ... drive_fs
Character sheet is here:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1F3U7K ... =drive_fs

A work in progress but it's at a stage where I believe I can use it to play with.

In case any links are broken, the master folder is:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1BxOvY ... p=drive_fs

Design goal:
● Retain the career compendium as the only major rule-book needed as reference (outside of sorcery / divine magic supplements)
● Be able to use the skill, talent and advance system completely unchanged - but map it to a new system
● Create a “dice-pool” system that i) allows success and failure with consequence; ii) brings in a narrative element that aligns with the character values / goal / belief ; iii) be able to leverage other materials for 2nd and 4th that exist and use them without any major modification (plug&play)
● The “system” created brings in elements of Chronica Feudalis (step-die system and the opposed roll mechanism), Blade Runner & Forbidden Lands (step-die penalties, belief dice, pushing the roll), Call of Cthulhu (pushing the roll), Blades in the Dark & PbtA games (progress clocks, consequences); D&D5 (what will become special attacks and legendary creature moves), Flashing Blades (hit location system), and Harnmaster (wounds and injury effects without hit points)
● Page references in the rules (e.g. p.21) refer to WFRP 2nd edition core rulebook sections

Thanks.

This is probably the best document to get the updated files as they get worked on

I know WFRP 3e didn't touch step-die systems. But as I read through your document, it seems like you would be well served to bring in some of the 3e dice mechanics.

I think that’s likely a good idea. I’m not very familiar with 3rd ed - what do you think would be the best things to bring in?

3e basically already did the same job you did, it just left out the step-die mechanics. Although, unfortunately, it revamped the stats so that they are no longer 1-100 as a side effect. If that's not a design goal, or you can find a way to reintroduce it, it seems like you might work to find a way to integrate 3e characters.

Cool - I can get the pdfs but obviously not the cards so I will check it out. The design goal was to start with d100 and be able to use the skills / talents / career system completely untouched . This was as a starting point to enable the switching over and play testing of characters without breaking them (so if we didn't like it they could just go back to normal d100). So far so good, but we have tweaked a few little things. The opposed rolls on combats we are finding works very well, for example. Also the pushing works very nicely.

Thanks for the hints.

I've updated my playtest dice-pool rules to the current version. I am very happy with it so far and the only thing to keep working on is how I might want to change magic.

I have made a set of examples also to help people follow the major rules:
