Things are still uncertain in the UK regarding the unlocking of society and opening up the country to travel from abroad. There is a 'roadmap' type thing produced by the government that seems to imply things should get back to 'normal' by June. That being the case, it is possible that Shadowcon will take place this year at Northfields community centre in London on the August Bank Holiday weekend this year, and that therefore Tobcon (a WFRP con for us lot) could piggyback on it again.
I had been tempted to just cancel it this year and focus on next, given the uncertainty. However, another part of me sees it almost as a civic duty to persevere and offer the glimmer of hope for face-to-face gaming and socialising this summer, after such a miserable twelve months. I therefore hereby announce a tentative and provisional Tobcon this August Bank Holiday. I'll send an email out to previous participants and here and now request that GMs please contact me to offer games. This may all get cancelled due to events beyond my control but I hope and pray it won't. If the worse comes to the worse, perhaps Tad can run another Tadcan online.
Let's all pull together and dispel this damnable lockdown gloom as best we can with some WFRP gaming goodness!

TOBCON 2021?
Excellent. Germany's completely fucked up the vaccination campaign, so I've no idea if I'll be allowed to travel, but if I can, then I am definitely coming and GMing.
You are not alone in this. Poland is also screwed. Maybe Discord CON? Like Winds of Chaos Discord CON?
I have ocean of treasures at the bottom. You can search it If You want, but You may never come back.

I doubt that I'll be able to spend $2K+ on an overseas trip this year, and probably won't have the vaccine by August. Remaining hopeful for 2022 though.
There was NegalCon which ran on the same weekend last year, by a very mysterious internet person.
My attendance is also dependant on a big change in the rate of vaccinations, which doesn't look good at the moment. The one jab J+J vaccine might improve that, but for now I can't commit to anything.

I've just heard that Shadow con is running online only this year again, so I'm therefore going to cancel Tobcon too, as there is nothing to piggyback on with ease. Hopefully Tad can run his online con again that weekend.
We'll leave it till next year then, when hopefully people can more easily travel here from abroad too. I do miss the face-to-face gaming and particularly the discussion and comradeship in the pub afterwards. Ah well - next year it is.
Until then!

That's a shame. I got vacc'd this weekend and Germany is considering lifting travel restrictions for vacc'd and recovered people, so suddenly it was looking do-able again. I miss the comradeship too, but Tad will, as before, do yeoman's work setting up an online con again, I'm sure. And this time I really will run something.

I too miss face-to-face gaming, and after attending the last two NergalCon's and having a great time with you all I am eager to get over to TobCon in person and support you all in your efforts, and partake in the pub discussions!!Toby Pilling wrote: ↑Tue Apr 20, 2021 5:15 am We'll leave it till next year then, when hopefully people can more easily travel here from abroad too. I will concede and wait to attend in person next year (roll on 2022 so I can get my in-person Con fix dammit!). Hopefully travel etc will have opened up and we can get back to some semblance of normality., or what passes for normality these days.
Hopefully see you all online for the next NergalCon!
