New Campaign! 'Anarchy in Averland'

Well, it's not exactly a new campaign. Basically, there was endless confusion with my group of players over:

1. The original, Games Workshop, Enemy Within campaign for 1st edition WFRP.

2. The new, 'Enemy Within 2.0' by Cubicle 7 for 4th edition.

3. The 3rd edition epic campaign by FFG, confusingly called the Enemy Within.

I have therefore decided to re-name the latter 'Anarchy in Averland'. I had toyed with some kind of variant around 'The Sun Sets on Averland', to make play of the heraldic symbol of the Grand County, but felt it was too wordy.

If I ever do run it, I'll make sure I have some Johnny Rotten-style character screaming out, to the strings of the sex pistols:

'Anarchy in Averland
Ain't the Red Crown, ain't the Purple Hand
I want it all now, this is the time
To burn in all down in Averheim

'Cause I want to be anarchy
In the city'

Not a bad name. I wonder if C7 will repackage TEW3E as a 4e campaign. Itd be relatively easy and could be accompanied with an Averheim sourcebook.

Nice idea. My players were actually shocked to learn that the 3e version (which we've been playing on and off for a while) isn't the same as the original.

One minor issue:
Spoiler
only Part 1 of 3e TEW is set in Averland, the other two (main) parts are set in Middenheim and Altdorf.
Also, just to add to the confusion, I usually see the 3e campaign referred to as TEW2 and C7 version as TEW Director's Cut.

I know you've done some fantastic work in updating 3rd edition adventures to 4th, which is of great value to the hobby. I reckon you should contact Dave Allen at Cubicle 7 and see if they'd be interested in contracting you to similarly update the whole 3rd edition scenario range (and get paid for it) - that would be awesome!

I second this. I own 90% of third edition but barely played it. Some of the scenarios are very good and TEW 3rd ed was certainly a very good read. Obviously not all content is everyone's cup of tea, but a bigger pool of resources is no bad thing.

A 3rd ed to 4th ed conversion cheat sheet would be a very useful tool.

I would also love to see 3e adventures converted. They are really difficult to get and I think there certainly is a market.
