Hey, so i had some time and rifled through the STS forums to recover what i could out of the threads. This is only the stuff that was relatively clean and complete, because i was too lazy to bother with any real editing. i've put it in a .txt file and zipped it for the forum's sake. just crack it open in wordpad and it'll be easy enough to read. sadly, most of the links were dead and i couldn't figure out a way to contact the owners to get them to agree to drop them here. feel free to pipe up if you see a rule you made and want to offer an updated version.

Also, while this is here, why not add your own house rules! more the merrier and this'd be a good chance to plug whatever websites you might run for your material too!

One rule that my group uses: Toughness in combat can only absorb TB wounds per round.

Character A has a Toughness of 40 and is wearing Light Armor. A is hit for 8 wounds, he takes 3 (8 - A's TB - Light Armor). If A gets hit again in that same round for 7 wounds he only subtracts his Light Armor and takes 6 wounds this time. When the next round of combat starts, A may once again start subtracting his TB from incoming wounds.

I love looking at house rules for 2nd edition! I'm on my phone right now but I'll look at it for sure on my computer later on here!

As as kind of carry over from the 40k RPGs we have a house rrule, used in all Warhammer systems, that hits to the head does double damage. Because getting hit in the head is not good and its wise to invest in a helmet, or was, in RL as far as I know.

Hmm.... if damage is done then yes, it can get severe fast, so i suppose the double damage makes sense in that regard. On the other hand the head is quite well protected by the skull, more so than the rest of the body, so i'd be tempted to give the head better protection in terms of Toughness ( or whatever you're using in your house rules ).

Could be that the skull protects somewhat, there's a reason as to why we have them after all, but I don't feel that additional rules wouid improve the game's combat as I think that the extra protection of the skull is mitigated by the severity of damage that can be done by trauma to the head. Thus we roll damage, then soak with Toughness and Armour and the damage that's left is doubled.

So far it has worked pretty well, and there's a certain "Oh, yes!" cheer when a character strikes a bad guy in the head, and a sense of despairing "Oh, crap!" when an enemy hits a character in the head. :)

EDITED: it should be noted that this only goes for living creatures. Undead, Daemons and such don't get extra damage because they don't use the brain in the same manner that living creatures do.
