Re: Endeavours Talent
We have been using multiple endeavours to get training... First, if you don't know the right trainer to start with, you spend an endeavour and make a Gossip Test and find a trainer. Then you spend another endeavour and make a attribute test to start to learn the talent, or make a skill test if you h...

Re: Typos, Missing Text & Errors In 4th Edition Books
There are corrections and changes in the later PDF's, so I'd assume at some point a change in the Printers proofs has got to happen.

Re: Character Creation
Heck, sitting down with your group its possible you can tweak and re-write bits of character creation. I created a Strigany PC, dropped Doomed, added a new trait that granted small bonuses and lots of racism from folk of the folk of the Empire. Our Halfling started with Throw or Sling Skill, though ...

Re: Selling
Of course, certain things will sell for more to the right buyer, and antiquity, history, and rarity may make them more valuable than beginning. One of our four different parties found some old Dawi weapons that needed restoring. They are from a long dead clan, so to collectors worth a bit more. Rest...

Re: Combat question and -ve SL
An important note is that SL bonuses from Talents only kick in when the roll was a success. We have a PC with three levels of Dirty Fighting. It's a Very powerful talent, adding both +1SL and +1 Damage hit each level. He doesn't fail that often on a success, but when he does he misses out on 6 extra...

Re: Barge rules
Every day might offer something for the journey. On the river there are lots of potential for fun... snags, submerged logs, shifting sandbars, assorted flotsam and jetsam, fouling lines and nets from wreckers and pirates, snags from prior wrecks, hull rot, effluvia from town sewers, hull fouling cri...

Re: Size question
In theory, you could give Big to a Halfling to make a Size (Medium) Halfling instead of a Small (Size) Halfling. Does that make sense? Not Quite. A Size (Medium) Halfling is a Size (Medium) Halfling. Big is completely separate from Size. As the trait says, it is a large example of it's species, an ...

Re: Questions on magic rules and mutations
This is one reason why Chanelling is useful. If your opponent has 4SL or more from Chanelling, you'd really have to out-do them on the language test to dispell stuff. Chanel the winds if you have time and ability, it makes your spells much beefier, more resistant to dispelling. Over-Chanelling for ...

Re: Questions on magic rules and mutations
- Ending spells: on p. 236 corebook under “duration“ it says that I may not simply end an active spell of mine but may only try to dispel it. Does that really mean that when I have cast Beast Tongue or Beast Form, which specify that I cannot speak while the spell is in effect, and thus not cast or ...

Re: 4th - Magic points?
While the rules do seem a bit vague, there are some things I interpret in the rules that others aren't seeing. Channelling is useful for younger Wizards trying to reach the high SLs needed for casting spells, particularly all the ones they are casting while using a Grimoire. So an apprentice good at...

Re: Ease of maxing WS
My first PC had a WS of 39, adding WS +5 , add Melee (Basic) +5 for human, and +10 for Cavalry Career and she was damned good to start off her career, let alone adding stuff. Possibly our most effective combatant was a Racketeer, hit harder with his fists than the rest of us with swords. He has bett...

Re: Critic Damage at 0 Wounds or I have to wait for -1 Wounds?
Further Question in Crits. When falling below Zero Wounds, you take a Crit, but at -20 on the table unless the damage exceeds your Toughness. Does the -20 also apply to Crits from rolling a Crit in combat, or are they a flat D100 Crit table roll? We have been playing with the -20 modifier, and we ar...

Re: Removing advantage from the game?
One simple houserule I want to test with my group is to keep Advantage working like it currently does, but in order to use it you have to spend it, so that you can no longer just accumulate it and use it passively. Absolutely something we were going to try to implement at the table. Made a lot of s...

Choose the school to fit your character.
Anyway, why choose simple, limited Wizardry when Lord Slaanesh offers both magic and the most exquisite pleasures of this realm and infinite others?

Re: Cat-tongued?
Once a PC has a few levels in Cat-Tongued they receive a bonus of +1SL per level on a successful test, for the talent. So a character with 3 talent levels would receive a +3SL on a successful test. A highly skilled character would find this highly beneficial.

"I've heard Vampires travel around so easily because those filthy gypsies, the Strigany, shelter them in their caravans. I wouldn't put it past 'em. They're horse thieves and adulterers, and they all reek of cabbage. It's a short walk from there to harbouring the Undead if you ask me." —Az...

Other options I was toying with To allow anyone with a Riverfolk Class, or the Mystic Career, could choose River Strigany as an option if they like, swapping out their doom for the Strigany Background.
