Re: The town of Prie
I'm fairly sure that many of the settlements on Andy's map are his own invention, to fill out the space and provide inspiration for GMs who want new or 'fresh' settings for their games. The Empire feels much bigger with these additions, which I think is a good thing... there's more room for new back...

Re: Viydagg Retcon/Return
I remember the Viydagg from 1st edition as a demon of the one of the law gods (Arianka?) but am unaware of anything since. However, it has been referenced in Archives of the Empire in the Laurelorn section: ...Powerful spirits can be encountered near this sacred site, including Viydagg, the primeva...

Re: Archives of the Empire PDF Released
I've not read it properly yet, but it's nice to finally have a decent amount of official material on the Moot and the Laurelorn Forest - including maps.

Re: Monuments of the Reikland
Shameless plugging, but it's currently $3.19 on drivethrurpg.com - that's less than 64c (or 48p ) per idiosyncratic Reikland monument. You can't even get a KitKat for that price! https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/318408/WFRP-Monuments-of-the-Reikland?src=hottest_filtered If you're still wary of b...

Re: Monuments of the Reikland
Hello, I'm not particularly comfortable promoting my own work, but Wolf suggested that I did in the 4e forum, so that gets me off the hook. My conscience is now clear . Last week Cubicle 7 released a pdf that I wrote - the first official thing I've had published for WFRP. Although it's designed for...

Re: Middenheim: City of the White Wolf
Ha! I think it's just beaten by the 'War of the Poses'. Not just a terrible pun, but also a very contrived gag about statues in complete different cities.FasterThanJesus wrote: ↑Sun Nov 22, 2020 2:45 pm Possibly the worst warhammer pun is still around - 1812 overcure!

Re: Bit of info about archives of the empire
I expect you've seen the contents on the pre-order page? https://www.cubicle7games.com/product/archives-of-the-empire/ No prizes for guessing which might be Alfred's! Karak Azgaraz: An exploration of a Dwarf Hold that, though it has seen better days, still holds strong in mountains that loom beyond ...

Re: Middenheim: City of the White Wolf
Book looks great, but the Middenheim map? Hmm one of the worst WFRP maps ever, imo. Can you tell why you do not like it? Is it the colour design, missing information? Something else? The graphical design, it has a bit of a cartoony look imo. The relative sizes don't look right: Ulricsmund is like 6...

Re: Middenheim: City of the White Wolf
I've flicked through it and it looks excellent so far. It contains everything from the first edition version and aspects of the 2nd edition Ashes of Middenheim background (adjusted for a 2512 date) and lots more new locations, NPCs and adventure hooks.
I need to read it properly now.

Re: Enemy Within Updates (plus other stuff)
I just don't see the need to literally end the world. This is the crux of it for me - we can draw on the locations and NPCs that the End Times, Storm of Chaos, Dark Shadows, Nemesis Crown, Storm of Magic, Lustria Campaign etc. gave us. But I don't see the point in ending the world for players and G...

Re: What and where is Zaiyon?
On a side note, I am not sure to get why Norse and British range of archetypes and stereotypes would be familiar and humorous enough to works best among sources of influence for Warhammer Fantasy , while Ashkenazim range of archetypes and stereotypes might be unfamiliar and unhumorous enough to be ...

Re: What and where is Zaiyon?
but the dawi as we know them in warhammer fantasy take more inspiration from norse myhology dwarves than anything. thankfully. Yes - I think Warhammer works best when it draws on a range of archetypes and stereotypes and mixes them up into something vaguely familiar and slightly humourous. Warhamme...

Re: What and where is Zaiyon?
I don't know, but that is a reference to Zion ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zion ) from the time Dwarves in exile in Man's Empire, were seen as Warhammer Fantasy's jewish communities. It seems that it was borrowed from Tolkien's Dwarves, rather than being a Warhammer Fantasy 's innovation on Dwar...

Re: Enemy Within Updates (plus other stuff)
Both WFB's Storm of Chaos and The End Times are anyway way too childish, too immature to be directly transposed to the Role playing game... Precise details that were published for WFB do not really matters and would have to be quite heavily rewritten to be of any use in the Role playing game. So, h...

Re: General WFRP production update
I had actually put it into the DotR thread and I assume Chuck changed the title following my admission that it was getting out of scope. Having a general update thread is reasonable though, especially as we're now getting more info on a wider range of content. Ah right.. sorry, I thought you'd link...

General WFRP production update
Rather than post this in the Enemy Within thread, I thought I'd start a new one:
https://www.cubicle7games.com/cubicle-7 ... on-update/
On top of yesterday's blog entry, C7 have posted an update on the progress of various forthcoming WFRP products... which is nice.

Re: Death on the Reik Update
I wonder how much of that is actually new content. It looks like the River Life Of The Empire has been expanded on. The Emperor Luitpold appeared in the Warhammer Companion. I think Vengeance Of The Gravelord is at least based on a previous publication, but it's not one i ever had and i can't quite...

Re: WFRP Social Justice & Representation
I'd be wary of the "Orcs=blacks" metaphor unless I was looking to do something really edgy and subversive. D&D is currently undergoing a major overhaul of its races and that's one of the hot-button issues. i mean they're supposed to be based on irish soccer hooligans more than anythin...
