Re: Torture And Burn
it's not explictly required, but the order prefers you risk killing an innocent than let a guilt one go free because of misguided mercy. if you have reason to suspect they're a witch or servent of the dark powers, you should kill them or torture them to prove their innocence. let too many cultists f...

Re: Sigmar's hammer, Ulric's axe, Verena's sword
the invocations do not specifiy that it's listed as the weapon in the equipment list but that it's called that weapon, so a travelling hatchet, woodcutter's axe or Orc's choppa would count as an axe for the purposes of ulric's requirement. similerly, rapiers are considered swords, but a main gauche ...

Re: Wizard(new players)
as you said, it's page 164. the last bullet point states "if you wound an opponent without engaging in an Opposed Test, gain +1 Advantage." both mundane and magical projectiles fall under this rule.

Re: In fighting rules
he is entirely correct, the talent only addresses the optional rules mentioned regarding range, and none of the modifiers enter play elsewhere in the book (in fact they're not even mentioned regarding unarmed combat, meaning you can bareknuckle your way through a pikeline without those rules!)

Re: Doubt about broken bone (minor) crit
there is a rule under healing criticals that states a broken bone renders the location unusuable, so the DM can simply deny thatplayer the attemppt to do anything that requires it. i'd also like to point out that excepting wounds, there's no rules preventing chatacteristic from going Below 0, so it'...

Re: Wizard(new players)
1: without a talent that gives you spells, you have no spells. petty spells are learned without a grimore (effectively training exercises, i guesses) and do not need to be consulted over. 2: you automatically get the WP bonus in petty magic spells when you take the talent, as opposed to arcane spell...

Re: Priests Magic (aka Miracles)
they ended up going back to playing warhammer 40k, then there was some thing that prevented everyone from meeting up...what WAs that..... I totally agree with Orin here. Additionally, the same argument can be used for wizards right? You could advance up to wizards lord without knowing how to cast a ...

Re: Priests Magic (aka Miracles)
-what do you mean by "my group laughed the idea of playing 4th out of the room"? to cut a rambling story short, my gaming group was fairly cuthroat about abusing game mechanics if they can at all get away with it and 4th ed's system has a number of glaring holes for anyone willing to poke...

Re: Priests Magic (aka Miracles)
this is only the guidelines i was planning before my group laughed the idea of playing 4th out of the room, but my general plan was to have a GM-held "needful intervention" stat, where the degree to which their actions would benafit the followers of the faith (and the world in general) and...

Re: Mutation and Ableism
After Storm of Chaos people would be less tolerant for mutations even if it not even conected to Chaos but there are reasons for that. Its a matter of perspective how dark You want Your world to be. Would the average Imperial citizen even be able to recognise the difference between a congenital dis...

Re: Looking for input on Greenskin- hunter adventure
the note just raises more questions, it sounds more like he's a full partner of the villain than a henchman than anything else, and several points in the note feel like they're handed to the players to make them go in the right direction, like the writer giving his name and the P.S. at the end. Fimi...

Re: Looking for input on Greenskin- hunter adventure
the first two things that come to mind are problems. 1: why does a coachman have a letter connecting his boss to the greenskins? that's blackmail material right there. anyone able to set this up should be self-aware enough not to leave something like that in the hands of a clown that mocks a big orc...

Re: Mutation and Ableism
this is assuming that there's some agreement on what counts as a mutation, as opposed to having one village where they beleive crimson locks is a sign of chaos and are all normal, dark-haired folk, then another villiage a few miles down the road where everyone's got red hair and sees children born ...

Re: The Empire: From Civil Strife to the Storm
given the other nations, i don't think there was too much concern. only tilea and kislev would consider invading the empire (everyone else would prefer the empire remain intact for their own various reasons, even if the wine-suckers would go for marienburg as soon as they're unstable enough they can...

Re: Advice for getting the WFRP tone right for scenarios?
the most important thing is that the setting is mud'n'blood, with a healthy dollop of college student humor about historical and fantasy tropes. if you get TOO serious you need to inject some stupid humor into what's going on, be it a character or foot chace for a small pet dog with a deadly maguffi...

i feel sure some of the entries here were removed or weren't canonical to begin with, but i haven't got sources for that....i will say you should probably have someone give it a good once over in text file form for minor spelling errors again.

Re: Speaking with and summoning the dead
amythest wizards are supposed to be able to do that, although that sort of thing would fall under a ritual rather than a spell. not all bad, part of the adventure could be settng the stage for the ritual (gathering the remains needed, special regeants, scouting a suitable area to make sure it's safe...

Re: Strike to stun
strictly speaking, yes. the trait called out opposed STR tests so you can objectively say it should apply to yours and not be out of line. the exact wording of Pummel is a little funky though so i'm gonna say to check with your GM for his final ruling there as he may disagree and the GM's word is law.

Re: Maximum SL bonus?
i blame the horrendous phrasing used in this book. I think the weakness in not in phrasing, but layout of the book. Rules are scattered across broad areas of the book as opposed to one chapter. Rules for Gear are in the Gear Chapter. Rules for Crafting are in the Endeavours Chapter. Rules for Comba...
