Re: LIBER INFECTUS - An Unusual Note?

Yep. It's in there. I just happened to be doing some tidying and had dragged my 3rd edition stuff out.

Re: Viydagg Retcon/Return

"Brunner Does A Runner!" would have been a better title. Actually, I'd enjoy reading any Black Library series where the hero deals with conflict by legging it. That's a much more WFRP than WFB strategy though. "A Mardagg? Isn't that the thing with a profile that looks like Jeff Bezos' bank account?...

Re: Viydagg Retcon/Return

That's a nice little find FasterThatJesus. Perhaps it would be worth searching for misspellings and variants using 'jokers' if you can do that in Calibre and haven't already done so. (I take it that this was using the full text search tool integrated into Calibre you mentioned.) There is a Calibre ...

Re: Viydagg Retcon/Return

Right, astonishing success with indexing the material that I do have as PDFs and ebooks, which amounts to some v1 and all v4, my v2 and v3 material is all hardcopies. I've got probably something like a quarter of the novels but nothing released in the last ten years. Out of that, I've probably only ...

Re: The town of Prie

For one split second, the Great Mutator turns his baleful stare at FasterThanJesus... I also used it to described my Forge World Magnus the Red miniature. I have little shame. On a less cringey note, I've got a full text search tool integrated into Calibre, where I've added my WFRP PDFs and ebooks ...

Re: [Help Needed] Ritual Magic - lore of Metal (WFRP2)

2nd Edition did have a list of prosthetics and I think there was at least an artificial hand in there.

There's also this guy, who has an artificial arm: https://warhammerfantasy.fandom.com/wik ... Damminsson.

Re: The town of Prie

Might be one for dry_erase to confirm, but would any addition to the WFRP v4 Reikland map require GW approval before publication? My only other thought is it could be a town mentioned in a tie-in novel, even in passing. Andy Law may well have collated that sort of thing while working on his Reikland...

Re: Viydagg Retcon/Return

Is there perhaps a passing reference in 'Tome of Salvation'? I can't quite remember. Mabrothrax was in Tome of Corruption. She was never explicitly written out of the background... just not referenced again. The Mardagg turned up in a Black Library novel. I know there's a lot of dangling lore from ...

Re: Viydagg Retcon/Return

Thanks, totsuzenheni, I hadn't thought to check Graeme's blog. I did have a quick look at the warhammer wiki, which only had the reference to the 1st ed bestiary.

Viydagg Retcon/Return

I remember the Viydagg from 1st edition as a demon of the one of the law gods (Arianka?) but am unaware of anything since. However, it has been referenced in Archives of the Empire in the Laurelorn section: ...Powerful spirits can be encountered near this sacred site, including Viydagg, the primeval...

Re: Enemy Within Updates (plus other stuff)

I'm only half way through so I'm going to leave a more thorough write up when I've finished. However, I agree with a lot, not necessarily all, of Theo's high quality assessment.

I will say that I'm getting a "in the forthcoming Realms of Sorcery" sense of déjà vu whenver I read "The Horned Rat."

Re: Enemy Within Updates (plus other stuff)

Do let us know what you think of it if you have the time and inclination. Yep. Will do. Gideon will probably have a 3000 word essay published by the time I've finished the foreword though ;) First impressions are that I like the art work, I like the maps (except the city map which has two annotated...

Re: Enemy Within Updates (plus other stuff)

I was a little bit skeptical, but Power Behind the Throne has been released today. I'm all excited, it's my favourite part (in theory, at least). Edit: this has been a productive end to the year, and although I'm not going to completely recant my earlier cynicism regarding releases and project manag...

Re: Middenheim: City of the White Wolf

Heh, that's actually unexpected good news. :) I was sure they were doubling down on their absurdly huge numbers. Of course, having 40,000 people live on top of a big rock plateau with no means of water transport is still utterly bonkers, but not as bonkers as 400 000, or even as the 95,000 figure f...

A new revision of the PDF is now posted. The 400,000 figure for the population is indeed a typo with an extra zero.

Re: Eye for an Eye 4E conversion

Interestingly, Cubicle 7 recently released a free PDF guide to convert between editions. It included 1st, 2nd and 4th, but not 3rd. This might suggest they think the same, or at the very least feel that their time can be more efficiently spent elsewhere. I've skimmed through a couple of adventures ...

Re: Eye for an Eye 4E conversion

I'm not sure how fair this is, given that the mechanics of a game are usually part of how an adventure is written for it. I always felt that the mechanical elements intruded less in 3e adventures than in other editions, but I'd need to read some adventures from the different editions side by side t...

Re: Middenheim: City of the White Wolf

It's claiming a population of 400,000. I'm thinking that should be 40,000 and an extra 0 has sneaked in.
