Re: Maps - which are you using?
As the GM, you can make the current state of the Empire whatever you want. If that's not palatable for you, then just pick a map and declare it to be authoritative by GM fiat. I said that settlements disappearing/appearing/renaming is a reason for maps to be out of sync. So what's happening in TEW i...

Re: Maps - which are you using?
One idea would be that towns can re-name themselves. Perhaps they want to 'rebrand' themselves to avoid association with past events, or because another town in another province has become associated with some misdeed (Nope! We're not *that* Wurlitz! This is Peshtigo). Perhaps through the trifecta o...

Re: The hunchback of Altdorf
A hunch is easily passable as a natural deformity, so it's a good way to hide a mutation. If you want to step it up a bit, take a page from Total Recall, and have your hunchback be like Cuato with a separate, sentient being growing out of his body.

Re: High Elf resistances
No. I don't remember where I read it, but there was a chart that you could roll on to see what sort of corruption you got, and elves were 100% Mental, meaning that they wouldn't mutate physically (tentacles, scales, wierd eyes), but rather an elf would develop an insanity.

I love all of you. I always get such great advice when I ask questions here, thank you so much. If there's more input to be had, please keep it coming, this is great stuff.

Re: Empire Military Organization
I have some rough story beats planned out, but if *you* were playing in a military campaign, what would be a situation or scenario that would make you feel disappointed if it were left out?

Re: 4e Ingredients for Petty Magic
I would just say that you can't use Ingredients for Petty Magic since Petty spells are too general for specific ingredients, or to put it another way "you get what you pay for" .

Empire Military Organization
I am planning out my next campaign and starting to get into some of the details. Can anybody point me in the direction of some resources as to how WFRP-Comparable armies were organized? I could do a straight lift from modern armies with ranks E1-E9 W1-W5 O1-O10 but that seems both needlessly complex...

Re: Entering a Class, Does It Stick?
My personal take is that a PC is eligible for any downtime option for his current career or any past careers.
Just because you don't do that any more, doesn't mean you can't do it any longer.

Re: Entering a Class, Does It Stick?
Good question. I would say yes, RAW. Personally, I do not charge my players that extra XP penalty for switching classes. I am in the process of a re-imagined career web for 4e, we'll see if anything ever comes of it.

Re: High Elf game suggestions?
Your elf apprentice is fresh from Ulthuan? You could impose a small penalty that wears off over time when surrounded by unfamiliar architechture (particularly if they are underground). Or when surrounded by large noisy crowds (sensory overload). Let's imagine that in Altdorf, when the Temple of Sigm...

Re: [Help Needed] Ritual Magic - lore of Metal (WFRP2)
You don't need to *justify* it mechanically, you just need to make it *plausible*. I think you've already done the lion's share of that work. You just have to set a difficulty for this. Why don't retired (or failed) Gold Wizards set up shop just creating new limbs for people? What would it take for ...

Re: [Help Needed] Ritual Magic - lore of Metal (WFRP2)
So normally, I would say "Go talk to your GM." ....but you already did that. Well done. ...And your GM said yes! Fantastic! ...So what's the problem? If your question is "Can I use The Body Gilded to get my hand back." The answer is RAW, no, you cannot. It will be gold, but still...

I found this http://fabledlands.blogspot.com/2016/12 ... relic.html
I don't know if that's the same thing that Wolf had in mind. I have only skimmed the intro as far as content (but I plan to do so sometime this week).

Re: Eye for an Eye 4E conversion
the people in the former camp ((Disliking the mechanical elements -Hyarion)) - during the time of 3e's publication - weren't rushing to praise the adventures, Because 2e was published in book format, I was able to go to a local shop and flip through a book and see if it was any good and then (usual...

Re: Channeling and Moving
Here's how I ruled the issue when it came up with my group. 1) When you start channeling, you must state what you are channeling towards (IE Shroud of Invisibility) and may not change what spell you are casting. Essentially, you are not *just* drawing in the winds of magic, you are casting the spell...

The Howling Man as well as The Hope (and Madness) Diamond.
If I can get my act together, I hope to write out the full campaign from which I took The Howling Man, but we'll see.
