Re: Magic 4th edition

Every lore is useful in their own way. Pick whichever one looks the most fun or most in line with your character concept, they're all equally viable. Tier lists like that tend not to take adaptability and utility into consideration, and to that end, I agree with Jakhtur that there are some very stro...

Re: Warhammer Old World, a.k.a. WFB returns.

I'm excited about this announcement because to me it indicates that they are actually moving forward with The Old World Project. But I was less than inspired by the sneak preview.

Re: Removing advantage from the game?

One simple houserule I want to test with my group is to keep Advantage working like it currently does, but in order to use it you have to spend it, so that you can no longer just accumulate it and use it passively.

Re: Any canon examples of characters using both might and magic?

How does the TW:W description of a Loremaster deviate from the concept proposed in this thread?

Re: Any canon examples of characters using both might and magic?

Malekith, most Loremasters of Hoeth (Teclis had the skill with a sword to do both, but he needed a potion of strength to balance out his otherwise weak body (but it proves your point)), Vampire Counts, most Chaos Champions of Tzeentch, Doomfire Warlocks (8e DE unit), Sisters of the Thorn (8e WE unit).

Re: Fan made?

You can always submit your version of things to this site.

You could try looking at Old World Beastiary (2e) if you need some inspiration, that might help.

Re: Nurgle cults - what defines them?

What about disaffected priests/priestesses of Shallaya who want to alleviate disease in an area by distracting Nurgle to other places?

The stickers from Gitzman's site was just what I needed. My next task (the easy one) is to start the scripting.

Re: Dice Mapping

I will check it out when I get home from work, thank you!

Basically what I'm looking for is something that says:
Fortune Die: 2 faces blank, 2 faces w/ 1 boon, 1 face with 2 boons. 1 face with 1 success.
Expertise Die: 1 hammer, 3 extra successes, 1 extra success, 3 faces blank.
etc etc.

Dice Mapping

My group is considering running through some of the 3e adventures in the future. But since we play online (via IRC) using the 3e custom dice is going to require writing/mapping our existing dice rolling scripts to the new dice.

Did FFG ever publish a mapping or enumeration of the dice faces?

Graak, I agree with you that that's how a healthy forum should be. And I do see that happening here on every sub-forum except for this one. At least I really hope disappointed player would let those topics to live without jumping in yelling “bull****!”. That is precisely what I see happening here in...

Will the real Purple Hand please stand up?

As I'm wrapping up my first campaign (which went really well), I have started thinking about some things to include in my next campaign. One thing I want to do is adapt another episode of the Twilight Zone and the one I had in mind is "Will the real Martian please stand up?" Spoilers follo...

Re: unbalanced races

Rarely, but when it does happen, then the character with the higher total I wins the tie.

Regarding your question to FasterThanJesus, how much tactics do you give your enemies? Why should the weaklings be the ones in charge range of the Elf instead of the leaders?
