Best object quests

I am looking for published scenarios in the classic mould of a search for an object or MacGuffin (like the Holy Grail). They do not need to be WFRP scenarios, or even fantasy ones. I am happy to convert from other games or genres. I would just like some good material to plunder. Suggestions welcomed.

Re: Bundle of holding, why without Doomstones 5?

Can't say I'm impressed with Heart of Chaos myself, I could imagine my players throwing a hissyfit at the ending. BTW I wrote about the original plans to end the campaign here: https://awesomeliesblog.wordpress.com/2017/04/25/lost-warhammer-the-fifth-doomstone/ There's not much, but there are some ...

Re: Thought Experiment: EW with bad guy PCs

If the PCs were, say, members of rival cults hostile to the Purple Hand, I think most of the campaign would not require major surgery, at least up to Power Behind the Throne. You would need to change Shadows Over Bögenhafen to provide the PCs with incentives to investigate Johannes Teugen. You would...

They don't include the guild material.

Re: Death on the Reik Update

Yes, Derrick shared some fantastic insights into the campaign. My favourite was his discussion of Empire in Flames, including original draft material: https://awesomeliesblog.wordpress.com/2018/05/06/fanning-the-flames-part-one/ https://awesomeliesblog.wordpress.com/2018/05/12/fanning-the-flames-par...

Re: Guild membership

I did a lot of work on guilds in WFRP for my blog, as part of my series of downtime posts. Unfortunately there didn't seem to be much interest in my downtime material, so I never finished writing the guild content up. As far as I could tell from my research. mediaeval guilds didn't really work as yo...

Re: Death on the Reik Update

The original ending being a previously unpublished ending? I believe so. The explanation was the original ending was hastily rewritten because The Horned Rat was dropped and SRiK was still being written, hence it was very abrupt. Of course, I don't know how different the ending we got in PBtT was f...

Re: 4ed Conversions

Is there an unofficial errata that's been compiled for the 1st ed core rules? I'm not aware of any. There were official errata, but they only applied to the original GW hardback, and were incorporated into the GW softback and Hogshead editions, I think. Dare I say it, but the updated first edition ...

Thanks all.
Why not use the stats from the original releases? The new Enemy in Shadows and probably Death on the Reik are not much different from the old.

Re: Shadows Over Bogenhafen help, please?

Are the players failing to investigate because they don't know how to go about it, or because they're not interested? If the former, perhaps an out-of-game chat would work, in which you could point out they need to ask questions, follow up clues, visit libraries and guilds, stake out suspects, etc. ...

Re: Death on the Reik Update

The reordering might just refer to a reorganisation of the text without changing the sequence of events. I have pointed out before some problems with the organisation (eg https://awesomeliesblog.wordpress.com/2018/04/10/the-enemy-within-the-bloggers-cut/), and there was similar reorganisation in Ene...

Re: The logistics (and logic) of Castle Wittgenstein (

So far I've kept the smallish kitchen garden (or, well, it'll be about twice the size shown on the original map like everything else, since the scale on that was obviously off). Judging by some European stately homes and chateaux, I think the garden should have an area at least as large as the Grea...

Re: The logistics (and logic) of Castle Wittgenstein (

1. I think it's easy to assume the Wittgensteins have other income or assets. I don't think Death on the Reik pretends to be a full account of their wealth. 2. The kitchen garden should probably be much larger. Its current size is not nearly enough to support the castle. 3. The Inner Bailey is lacki...

In particular you might recall that a year or two ago (i think) someone was asking for advice on building a Wittgenstein Castle miniature. I did a quick web search but i can't find the blog of the person who was making the miniature, and i'd link you to the discussions but alas the forums they were...
