Re: Feedback
The '?' symbol is a topic icon, used to differentiate different types of new posts. I'm not a fan, so I removed them. You'll still see the "hot topic" and "new post" icons, as they're part of the theme.

Re: Videos and Podcasts
Holy mother of Nurgle. Graeme Davis is on the forum. Pardon me while I geek out a little bit. I've been a huge fan since I started playing WFRP around 1987. Shadows Over Bogenhafen especially deserves every bit of praise it has received over the past 30 years. Death on the Reik is my favorite RPG su...

Re: Rough Nights & Hard Days
Thanks. I'm glad to be here. Many thanks for setting this place up. I'd like to mention the forum on my blog. I haven't yet, as you said you wanted to test the forum out first. Let me know when you're ready, though, so I can make a post. I'd say go ahead. This place is ready as it ever will be. Tha...

Re: Feedback
Hmm, good feedback. I'll look into editing the files for the "most recent" stuff. The "orange" is this theme's "red" version. I might dig a little into the CSS and see if I can make it a bit darker, or at least more red. The Bazaar forum -- maybe. It never seemed to be ...

Re: Rough Nights & Hard Days
Looking forward to it . Glad Cubicle 7 is having Graeme revise, update, and add to it instead of reprinting the scenario again, for the umpteenth time.
As a side note, good to see you here, Gideon! Love your blog!

Re: Grudges!
This was one of the things I hoped the v1 supplement "Dwarfs: Stone and Steel" would address in detail. But the section on grudges is pretty vague and very, very short. Some ideas for family or personal grudges: a stolen heirloom, a deceitful tactic in battle leading to a humiliating defea...

Re: Thousand Thrones
I admire your persistence. Your ideas are sound, and I hope they make for an enjoyable experience. I really like the early meeting with the Strigoi and the rescue of the PCs by the Blausblut. That should play much better. I think given more time and a narrower focus, Thousand Thrones could have been...

Re: Zapp's house rules collection
Thanks Cap! Great stuff. The armor question is a tough one. It solves the problem of armor never getting damaged or broken -- although I seem to remember some rules for that in a White Dwarf article or one of the Hogshead Apocrypha supplements -- but the solution might be worse than the problem. I'l...

Re: Thousand Thrones
"Better yet! Skip it entirely and go straight to Chapter 3." I apologize for ignoring your effords, Chuck, but this is exactly what we've done. There was no reasonable way of implementing the scenario into the campaign. And it does not contribute at all to the campaign progress. I approve...

Re: Thousand Thrones
The biggest problem with the Thousand Thrones is that we had a very loose skeleton of an overall plot but we were all writing at the same time. So very important details that would have been helpful for one chapter weren't available to the authors of other chapters until very very late in the game. ...

Re: Thousand Thrones
I apologize in advance for Chapter 2. My warrant was to "highlight the day to day life in an actual village in the Empire" and I had what I thought was a neat little investigative scenario and then halfway through the call came from above: "Put vampires in!" -- I guess in an effo...

Re: HP Lovecraft
If you like HP Lovecraft but find his prose a little overwhelming, I recommend HPLHS's Dark Adventure Radio Theatre - full cast dramatisations of his stories and lately adaptions of Call of Cthulhu campaigns. https://store.hplhs.org/collections/dark-adventure-radio-theatre There's a free episode as...

Re: HP Lovecraft
Fu Manchu! Inspiration for countless villains in the serials of the 1930s and 40s. What a blast from the past. The Wikipedia article starts out amusingly: "Sax Rohmer, without any prior knowledge and understanding of Chinese culture, decided to start the Fu Manchu series after his ouija board s...

Re: HP Lovecraft
There is a surprising amount of casual racism, which is shocking in 2019 but probably raised very few eyebrows in the 1920s or 30s. Robert E Howard's horror stories suffered from the same problem.
