Re: Feedback
I noticed the new subforum. I hope posting house rules in specific subforums is still allowed, since these are by nature edition specific.

Re: Encumbrance confusion
Are you asking specifically about 2E rules? (Encumbrance rules vary widely between editions)

Re: Berserk Charge and Strike Mighty Blow
Ah i can see the misunderstanding :) I just feel it is wrong to say that it gives an extra Succes Level, and not that it deals extra damage. It gives both. So yes, saying it gives SLs but not extra damage would indeed be wrong. SL is never mentioned in the talent, but +1 Damage is. But SLs are ment...

Re: Magic armour, crit negation
It seems you're giving your personal answer/interpretation/suggestion and that, no, the devs have not addressed this issue specifically.
Or did I read you wrong?

Re: Berserk Charge and Strike Mighty Blow
PS. If you fail but still win when you charge, you don't get the SL bonus but you do get the damage bonus.
If anyone has questions on that, just ask!

Re: Berserk Charge and Strike Mighty Blow
"when you Charge, you gain +1 Damage to all Melee attacks per level in this talent" It doesn't say anything about advantage. Now, under the lists of what gives advantage, charging is listed "Charging: charging headlong into battle grants +1 advantage". Wether you have the talent...

Re: Fate points and critical hits
When a character spends a Fate point, the player makes a choice: 1) the character isn't killed, maimed (or whatever), but instead struck senseless. He or she will wake up after the combat is over, relatively safe. His friends (that did not spend Fate Points) might all be dead or captured, however. I...

Re: Stunning and Knockout
Again, I would like to clarify that I focus on gameplay balance, not realism. My focus is to avoid a ruleset where players determine that it is statistically better for them to stop using the regular combat system, and instead winning their fights using some sort of special maneuvre. I haven't done ...

Re: Stunning and Knockout
It appears you want to implement the knocked out trope. The problem isn't that it's unrealistic. The problem is that anything that short-circuits the hit point buffer (in games that have them) needs to be well gated and restricted, or everyone will do it. The end analysis is very likely that untrain...

Re: Berserk Charge and Strike Mighty Blow
Berzerk Charge also gives you +1SL on your Successful Melee Test when you charge. That means you will win the Opposed roll more often and deal 1 extra Damage due to SLs... This. Plus to damage is actually much less valuable in 4E, while plus to attacks is very valuable. There are many talents where...

Magic armour, crit negation
Did we get official word? Have I asked before? The question is: if you have a spell that provides Armour Points, can you use it to negate a critical? If so, what happens to the magic? (Can a spell get "damaged"?) Can Wizards combine magic and mundane armour? How does that work with crit ne...

Re: Feedback
Now that you've added links between the forum and your main site, how about changing this: Currently, both "Home" and "Board Index" leads to, well, the forum index (with or without the index.php). Logic suggests "Home" should link to whatever web site houses the forum, ...

Re: Endeavours from 4th ed
Just adding that the idea is to have an Endeavours phase between every adventure, and to limit the number to 3 even if that downtime is longer than three weeks. Central to the concept is also the random events that not only provide spice (inspiration) on what your character is doing during downtime,...

Re: Stunning and Knockout
Feedback: two things make me wonder if this isn't a 2E rule. 1) The Aim action? You can attack using your action and take -20 to the roll to do a called shot. Perhaps that's what you meant? (The 2e Aim was a half action that gave a general +10 bonus. Sure it could be useful to offset the head shot p...
