Re: Feedback

Hi, A bit more feedback. A bit of a minor point, but any chance of adding bbcode support for tables? It could be nice for anyone who wants to put profiles up (we could leave a template somewhere)? I'll look into it. I'm a bit hesitant because if it's improperly implemented, it could screw up the fo...

Re: Criticals

Remember not to overcomplicate things. Regarding the many dice rolls with a crit is scored, we, at my table, use the original location where the hit was scored, for the critical hit too. Thats one less roll and it makes more sense anyway. Not overcomplicating things is my primary goal -- you guys w...

Re: Feedback

I figured I’d move the most active forum to the top. To keep some semblance of order I just reversed the editions.

Re: Criticals

And Cap, great discussion of the problems inherent in the 4e crit system. I can’t think of anything in there I disagree with, and it’s shaped my thinking quite a bit. Whoever has the license for 5e should hire you.

Re: Criticals

So here's the first stab at the minor critical tables. As above, table #1 involves some bookkeeping that the GM or player keeps track of for 1 round. Table #2 has effects that require no bookkeeping past the current round, but in several instances grants an extra attack, which means another dice rol...

Summaries are ok, copy-paste is not. Sorry, it’s a bit of extra work but it’ll keep GW’s attorneys away.

Re: Criticals

My primary goal was to speed up the resolution of critical effects, and therefore speed up or at the very least not further slow down combat as a whole. I split the tables up between spice effects (rolled doubles when wounds are > 0) and major criticals (incurred when damage is taken and wounds are ...

Re: Criticals

So I have split the criticals into 2 tables, a "minor critical hit" table for doubles (wounds above 0) and one for "earned" or "major" critical hits, when you've dropped your opponent's wounds below 0. I started out with minor critical hits, with the idea of keeping boo...

Not to take this off topic, and without having the rules in front of me here, but couldn't those three rolls be rolled together?
You could, but if your strike doesn’t generate a critical you’ve wasted 2 of those 3 rolls.

Re: Criticals

Wow, that is a lot of information to take in. My initial take was to simply update my old critical hit tables for 4e, but when I read the new critical section and saw how much they changed it from 1st/2nd edition, the amount of effort required made me pause. Each new table now has 20 entries, only o...

Criticals

So I've been thinking for a while now about redoing the Critical Hits for 4e like I did for 2e (blunt, edged, arrows, firearms, etc) but the system has changed quite a bit. What does everyone make of the new critical system? It's one aspect of 4e I haven't heard a whole lot of debate about.

Re: Attachments

I've allowed all the basic files phpBB typically recognizes. 4mb maximum per attachment, max 6 attachments per post. It looks like there has to be a number of max allowed attachments per post, and I'm worried 0 will disallow attachments entirely.

Re: Feedback

There may be standalone thread icon packs for phpBB to replace the ones that came with the skin, I'm not sure. If anyone could point me to some, I'd be happy to try them out.

I like on the original how the artist started “Malthusius” out boldly and then quickly regretted it and stuffed the rest of the letters in before he ran out of space.
