BOOKS
- Nod by Adrian Barnes (What happens when almost no one can sleep anymore? In WFRP this could be a petty magic spell gone wrong.)
- The Vorrh by Brian Catling (A magical realist 'adventure' into the endless forest that humans were banned from. 'Monsters', monsters, and magical items.)

Re: Major shake-up at Cubicle 7

If we don't get TEWC this time around either then i will put forward a motion that we encourage Graeme et al to see if GW will let them crowdfund a TEWC directors bumper edition.

Re: Staying in a Career

Rule a) is ok, but are these skill bonuses in addition to the advances that can be made to characteristics? If so i see two potential problems. The first is that the combination of skill bonuses and characteristic advances could get quite high. The second is that it costs 100Ep to advance a characte...

Re: High mage question

I think GW's restriction on non-elf mages blows from a player fun perspective. So my obvious houserule is to look at the color wheel and encouraging the player to pick spells from the two adjacent winds as well. A Gold Wizard can pick White and Green spells, for instance. It makes each Wizard chara...

Re: Contradiction?

Not sure what you're saying here. Are you implying you have to fully complete a career? As i read it the rule, or guideline, as you will, is that a character does need to complete their career in order to choose one of their career exits . (Though i take Gideon's point that this isn't quite explici...

So Ingrid has completed the Prospector career and that's why she can choose one of the Prospector career exits as her next career. Not sure what you're saying here. Re: Contradiction?

I'm ruling you can change career whenever you want but it has to make sense in the narrative. The rules on changing careers in first edition have always been more of a set of guidelines for the GM. I took a brief look through the changing careers rules in the rulebook, the 'Skills and Careers' arti...

Re: Halfling Size

Page 341, the rule is pretty clear: "it multiplies any Damage caused by the number of steps larger it is (so, 2 steps=x2, ...." Humans are just 1 step larger than Halflings, so Damage x1, not double. If anyone is thinking that they can invoke this rule to receive x0 damage from an opponen...

Re: Origins of the Gods.

My feeling is that links that one might found between those two natures are quite superficial in my humble opinion... I'm not sure superficial is the right word, but i'd say they are, or were, tenuous. i'd say "imagined" is the right word, honestly. it would likely be more fair to say Cal...

Re: Origins of the Gods.

This influence isn't significant on the nature of Chaos Gods... Mythos's gods are asleep space creatures hidden in the beneath of Earth, while Warhammer Chaos god are creatures created by (mainly human and eldar) souls in the warp who happen to interact -like other Warhammer Gods- with the material...

Re: Origins of the Gods.

The influence of H. P. Lovecraft on Anthony Ackland in his development of the WFRP 1st edition depiction of the Chaos gods has been specifically stated, but Call Of Cthulhu has also been mentioned as one of Graeme Davis' gaming influences. Given Graeme Davis' involvement in WFRP 1st edition i think ...
