Re: Changing Career Level
He could also do it via the changing careers endeavor Jareth, which IS a purely mechanical one that just requires the GM to agree to it. i concede that the way 4th handles it's progressions system is inconsistent and sloppy, but it's based around letting the players do what they want, and OP wants t...

Re: New campaign: Oldenhaller contract aka Boardwalk Empire
another matter to consider is that sigmar isn't the only god in the empire, and the churches of some of the gods like taal/rhya and ulric may decide it's part of their holy duty to allow these gifts to reach their faithful....i think rhya is explictly about wine after all. they might do it out of th...

Re: Changing Career Level
the designers don't get to overrule the printed material if your GM allows it. anything they say they "intended" after the printed material is out is just scuttlebutt. discuss it with the GM and if the other players want to bitch then let 'em cry. that said, instictive diction is handy and...

Re: New campaign: Oldenhaller contract aka Boardwalk Empire
you know, banning alcohol would just make the entire dwarf community in the empire criminals. i doubt the karaks would respect it either. there's an interesting political twist, the road wardens trying to nail smugglers while desperately trying not to cause a political nightmare with the empire's mo...

Re: New Careers?
lore: routes would be a good skill for a highwayman to have....as for the names, i was mearly making a suggestion. that said, it's not like warhammer has ever had too great a love for keeping things in line with historical details, now has it?

Re: New Careers?
good work, but lore {empire} is awfully high on the list for what is essentially common knowledge. i'm also not so sure about "road agent" which sounds more to me like a tollkeeper, really. "road robber" maybe? flip that one with highwayman for titles. you could maybe mark which ...

Re: Species' Talents
In regards to starting talents based on race: the comma denotes a talent you get, with any (talent OR talent) meaning to choose one and random talents rolled for. Example- humans have: Doomed, Savvy OR Suave, 3 Random talents. This means they get doomed, choose between Savvy and Suave, and then roll...

Re: Enemy Within Volume Three announced!
Wait... Where did Cubicle announced a post-TEW campaign? I did miss that... (My blurry memories of Gavin Thorpe, from my Fantasy Battle era's adolescence, come with a quite... infamous taste. I no longer remember why, but I seem to remember that he was quite despised by French Warhammer grognards ....

Re: Gnome warrior priests
haven't gotten the rules for gnomes in 4th, (i don't see any group i play with moving to it from 2nd) but as far as running them as warrior priests, remember that 4th is playing a little loose with how careers are approached lorewise. normally warrior priests are a quirk of the sigmarite faith, and ...

Re: Imperial Calendar
Thank you for this suggestion. Is Mórrslieb erratic enough to be able to be new moon one day, full moon th day after and half moon the day that follow? Can it go reverse? Yes. It's apparently possible (and not uncommon) for it to simply not show up some nights, or to stay unmoving in the sky for ni...

Re: New Careers?
i remember several careers in 3rd revolved around having special equipment as part of the career rather than skills, so i think it might be best to overlook it. I may take you to literal here, but I don't really see the problem with a equipment-basis for a career as opposed to skill-basis. There ar...

not sure you should have to take a separate career just to not be a prick at doing your job, even if it is highway robbery.

Re: Career Specific Traits Homebrew
That's quite a bit of effort, impressive! going through it, but i feel like these might be a bit too powerful for some people's games. reversing dice is "roll 2, pick the highest" in almost all instances after all. gamemaster beware, i guess.

Re: Imperial Calendar
Have someone an idea (or some sources) on how could be determined random lunations of Morrsliebe and eclipses of the Sun, of Mannsliebe and of Morrsliebe? well, we have the seasonal calendar and the rough amount of hours in the day, so someone with astronomy experience would be able to put together...

Re: Spells for New Wizards
The grimore isn't related to petty magic, it's spells for when they gain the arcane lore talent and it's entirely up to the GM. Note that just taking the talent itself doesn't teach you any spells, so you should point that out ahead of time. A grimore is effectively the spells he'll be able to learn...

Re: New Careers?
careers are grouped into classes, rather than having exits so staying in job in one of the eight classes and then having for...i guess sub-careers for advancement. you can skip pretty much any which-way through careers, classes, and sub-careers though so i don't know if i'd called the higher level o...
