Realms of Sorcery Now on DriveThruRPG
This weeks Not Enemy in Shadows Companion release is Realms of Sorcery. An oldie that came out just after I stopped playing, so I'm a little curious.

Re: Dogs of War: WFRP Weapons vs WFB Weapons
Is the intention that the players will be playing rank and file troops or 'heroes'? If they're just infantry, distribution of damage would be the trickiest thing as you'll have to create some rules for that; WFB just accumulates damage against a unit. Also, did you ever play Mighty Empires? It was a...

Re: Warhammer Old World, a.k.a. WFB returns.
Sorry, I wasn't arguing it was going to be a threat to GW's profit, just acknowledging that there had been splinter.

Re: Warhammer Old World, a.k.a. WFB returns.
There was a split/splinter of the WFB community, as there is a fan project called the 9th world (?) which creates a new ruleset for the existant WFB minautes that's much more in keeping with older WFB games. I guess it's not disimilar to the Pathfinder phenomona.

WFRP in 40K
This may amuse some people. If you weren't aware, there is a youtube series called If the Emperor Had a Text to Speech Device. which is a bump animation satirizing 40K lore and GW. The latest episode was uploaded yesterday and involves Magnus the Red GMing a game of WFRP 2nd edition with the likes o...

Re: Warhammer Old World, a.k.a. WFB returns.
Yep, saw that earlier.
I guess only time will tell though. It may also be not too bad a thing if they're going for a different tone the later WFB editions, they do afterall, have their very high fantasy table top game with Age of Sigmar now. I'm probably giving GW too much credit though.

Re: Part 1 of Doomstones out on DrivethruRPG
I posted this earlier to the Apocrypha Now thread (trying to avoid spamming the forum). That had the same issues with notification. I'm basically having to check their twitter feed every couple of days because I don't want to miss the EiS Companion.

Re: Apocrypha Now
They've done Doomstones Fire in the Mountain now. Personally not too interested, but I may pick this one up if it's on offer/humble bundle etc.

Re: unbalanced races
I've not done any calculations. I won't be starting my WFRP v4 campaign until next year after TEW volume 1 is out in hardback and I'm hoping to use the pregens and stick to humans. I think +600xp would be too much. Elves and Dwarfs should have some stat advantages, just not what they have in v4. If ...

Re: unbalanced races
Yeah, definite problem from 1st. I think they believe that fate and fortune points balance this out, but I'm not nearly so sure. You could try the stats from 2nd edition which are more balanced. Another option is to impose an xp penalty (e.g. -10% or -20%), to stunt their growth, which may fit a lit...

Yeah, I only checked their news page today as I was hoping the companion would be out. I know we've been doing it to death, but they really need to improve on their dissemination of information.

Apocrypha Now
Hi All,
In case you've missed it, Apocrypha Now has been made available by Cubicle7 through DriveThru RPG, https://www.cubicle7games.com/wfrp-aprocrypha-now-pdf/
I was hoping of news of the Enemy in Shadows Companion, but this isn't so bad as it was one of the 1st edition books I missed out on.

If I remember rightly, one of the available rewards was an ambassadorial role, which may be useful to non human characters. Of course, how this fits in with existing official appointments could be interesting...

Thanks guys.
@Orin, I think they were going for a pose where he was backing away/on the retreat but you're right, he does look a bit funny almost like he needs wires attaching. Agreed on the deep fur.

Painting Thread
I'm not sure about everyone else on the forum but my Warhammer background was a near 50:50 split between WFRP and WFB but painting was as big a part of the hobby for me as anything during my formative years. It was after a getting a desire to paint again for the first time in twenty years that I stu...

Re: Enemy in Shadows: Thoughts and reactions
I emailed them. I emailed them again today and they asked if i could put it on the google document (which i wasn't aware of previously). I guess that's what you're referring to @FasterThanJesus. It is here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScX_aUkUKIaA0s4TUGSQCl9tLgBEH3h7AjbWJd7b2YNonjHUg/v...

Re: Enemy in Shadows: Thoughts and reactions
BTW all, i did let Cubicle 7 know about an error in the PDF and the did write back to say it would be rectified, so if you do spot any errors or omissions i think it would be worth letting them know. I followed the posted link to an errata page that I've used a couple of times. What method did you ...

Re: Enemy in Shadows: Thoughts and reactions
It will be more important as the campaign goes on, too. Death on the Reik is a sprawling monster (well, campaign in it's own right) and the final 3 parts need quite a bit of timing. All it really takes is a recommended start date that can fit into the existing material as the default of the setting....
