GW will want to differentiate this from Age of Sigmar and probably reflect the Total War game... so I expect they'll go for an aesthetic which is lower fantasy than AOS.
I would prefer a low fantasy game, or 'realistic' fantasy, but i wouldn't tagTotal War up as low fantasy.

Re: Warhammer Old World, a.k.a. WFB returns.

Indeed. It very much depends on which version of the Warhammer Fantasy Battle Old World they recreate.

Warhammer Old World, a.k.a. WFB returns.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpnLjwOn5tg&feature=youtu.be https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/11/15/old-world-new-warhammer/ I'm concerned about what this might mean for WFRP products, and for the tone of the Old World in general. I was hoping that WFRP products, whether unofficial or offici...

Re: Apocrypha Now

I notice that it's the Flame Publications edition. The Hogshead editions were slightly different, not only because they were combined into two part volumes, but also because some information purtaining to using Warhammer Fantasy Battle (first or second edition i guess) was omitted, and some addition...

Re: Enemy in Shadows: Thoughts and reactions

I think it’s better for campaigns not to mention dates at all, unless timing is critical to the plot (set at a certain time of year, or over a specific timespan), which isn’t the case with TEW. You could argue that specific dates aren't required, but Enemy In Shadows, especially the Shadows part, d...

Re: Enemy in Shadows: Thoughts and reactions

The point is to give the GM a structure which they can use and adjust. Why would it irritate a GM if they need to change the date any more than it would it they needed to figure it out and deduce it from the handouts?

Re: Enemy in Shadows: Thoughts and reactions

I don't think that's a problem @macd21. Having a start date given in the campaign doesn't prevent a GM from moving it and gives the GM something to work with.

Re: Enemy in Shadows: Thoughts and reactions

BTW all, i did let Cubicle 7 know about an error in the PDF and the did write back to say it would be rectified, so if you do spot any errors or omissions i think it would be worth letting them know. I followed the posted link to an errata page that I've used a couple of times. What method did you ...

Re: Enemy Within Rewards for nonhumans.

I'm not actually sure. I suppose it depends on how elves, dwarves and halflings are viewed by humans in your version of the Empire. Also, as i recall, these promotions you're referring to served both as rewards and as a means by which the PCs could be bound to the commands of the Graf of Middenheim,...

Re: Enemy Within Rewards for nonhumans.

Bear in mind that of the five fourth edition Enemy Within campaign parts the fourth and fifth parts are expected to be new, or so heavily rewritten as to be effectively new, whilst the third part, and perhaps the second part too, is expected to be rewritten to some degree, with the possibility of so...

Re: Enemy in Shadows: Thoughts and reactions

I've never understood why 70% became "average". I'm with you, but there's no point fighting it, if it leads to misunderstanding. I'd much rather you used your own rating system if that were more logical and functional. If anything i'd push the scale the other way so that average was a lower score. ...

Re: Enemy in Shadows: Thoughts and reactions

My guess re the crossed pines is that someone realised that when you added the furniture, the ‘bar’ area was clearly tiny, so needed to be expanded. Hence the removal of the backroom/servery. I suspect you are right with regard to the removal of the backroom. I wonder if in reimagining the layout t...

Re: Enemy in Shadows: Thoughts and reactions

I've posted my thoughts on Enemy in Shadows on my blog. https://awesomeliesblog.wordpress.com/2019/10/27/wanted-bold-adventurers/ I was interested to see the changes to [t/T]he Crossed Pikes map. It's a definite improvement to have the furniture drawn in, and to have some contrasting colour and sub...
