Re: Wfrp 4e Starter set PC's

I think you could run it with new PCs, I’d probably run Night of Blood and If Looks Could Kill with them first though.

Edit: one issue is the nature of the characters. If you’ve no combat types, they may struggle with some stuff.

Re: Major shake-up at Cubicle 7

So, bit of an unofficial update: over on discord, TSLuikhart let slip that he is looking at the SoB pdf that is just waiting on a couple of maps to be approved, but is pretty much ready to go. He also mentioned that there’s two Bogenhafen maps, one for players, one for the GM.

Re: Major shake-up at Cubicle 7

I don’t have the dev diary, but someone said that it suggested TEW would be out next month, rather than September? Not to be too pessimistic, and dependent on how their pipeline works, if it not here now (or before the week is out), I don't expect to see it on this side of Yule. Based on what they’...

Re: Major shake-up at Cubicle 7

Actually apparently there was a tweet a few weeks ago in which they said they expected to have the pdf out sometime in September, and were just working on some extra maps to add to it. So 🤞 I've just seen the latest dev diary (wow, we have two now!) which confirms that. No other interesting informa...

Re: Major shake-up at Cubicle 7

If we don't get TEWC this time around either then i will put forward a motion that we encourage Graeme et al to see if GW will let them crowdfund a TEWC directors bumper edition. I get the impression the whole thing is pretty much finished. I believe the plan is to roll them out at a rate of 1 volu...

Re: Major shake-up at Cubicle 7

I'd settle for just an updated timeline for releases. With the shakeup, it would seem to be an appropriate time. I don’t think there’s anything to update. The announced releases were, I think, more or less done, and Andy’s still wrapping up those projects he was still working on. So the release sch...

Re: Major shake-up at Cubicle 7

It would be weird if they did say anything. The norm is for all parties to stay silent and move on. No matter what you say, people are going to be annoyed. As it is, people are annoyed, saying anything would just add fuel to the fire. a considerable amount of the writing, design development, overal...

Re: Errata Update

(for those you have to look at the FAQ, or else track down discussions on Facebook or Discord to find out what the devs have said on it). I find ambiguity as bad as errata, maybe even worse. If something is plain wrong (errata), you could guess the correct intent. But with vague rules, anyone can b...

Re: Errata Update

I'm wondering if the errata is actually errata or if it's just personal preference over how a rule should work. For example, some think the magic system is too demanding for a spellcaster. That's not errata, that's just a personal opinion and disliking of the magic system. This doesn't of course, n...

Re: Major shake-up at Cubicle 7

Lot of speculation as to what happened, but nothing clear. Andy’s said a few things on Discord, but clearly can’t say much. Seems it was very much his decision (i.e. he wasn’t fired), but something happened that meant he felt he had no option but to resign.

Re: Starter Set Advice: Are Trolls Really THAT Scary?

Feedback from a lot of groups is that they found the troll too weak. It’ll obviously be outnumbered, and outnumbering your opponent gives a lot of bonuses. Some groups took it out in one round.

Re: Species' Talents

If you like, you can keep all three rolls, which, assuming an Initiative Characteristics of at least 30, allows you to see into 60 yards of darkness, and gives you +3 SL to any low-light Perception test (a huge bonus). Well, just to be clear, +3 SL to any successful low-light Perception tests (it c...

Re: Official WFRP FAQ

Of course crit negation is your first priority. That said, a -20 penalty can halve your chance at succeeding on the Test. And the best chance of avoiding death and defeat is to win your Tests. Throwing that away just because there's a 10% risk of a critical in the RAW is and feels very dodgy indeed...

Re: Official WFRP FAQ

that's a generally bad choice because at full wounds giving your opponent bonus damage is still a real risk of getting taken down to no wounds in one blow with the level of damage variance in this game. that would only start being viable after a lot of advances to boot S/T/ the hardy talent. That h...

Re: Official WFRP FAQ

I can see this as a good strategy maybe when you are at zero wounds and you have brought down to zero your armor AP in at least one location. But it’s not a fantastic strategy, you are increasing the odds of being hit by no small margin, meaning also you are giving more advantage to your opponent. ...
