Re: possible wfrp convention in sheffield, uk

All the cool stuff happens across the pond. If I could make it happen, I'd be there. I hope it goes well!

Re: Where the other Gideon reads Warpstone

Being a (comparative) newcomer to WFRP and having missed out completely on the 1e and post-1e (Warpstone/pre 2e) era, I'm finding this a fascinating walk through. I've read through the 1e core book, but I'll confess it means that much less to me because I never had to make it work for me, as it's th...

@Faster Great call out about the years of waiting from the community. If there is a collectible format, I'll need to get that one.

Re: Foundry vtt or Roll20

The deciding factor for me is how much homebrew mechanics you want to introduce. Foundry is absolutely fantastic, but I was not able to change/introduce as much as I wanted so I ultimately had to let it go.

In other news: it looks like I may have been correct after all.

It will be interesting to see if this will be a setting book or a new system. I guess we'll see.

Re: Warhammer: The Old World

For the longest time, WFB was set in the year 2522 and the main conflict of setting at that point was embodied in Emperor Karl Franz vs Archaon. WFRP 4e is now set in 2510(? I believe?), likely to give some breathing room to players who want to run The Enemy Within, and give enough time for things t...

Maybe because you are a Merchant/Tradesman or are just well Travelled, and you know a bit about the language?
Maybe because you are a Reiklander, but one (both) of your parents were expatriots who had settled down in a new country?

Re: Warhammer: The Old World

I would expect *new* models (not re-releases of old kits) to be ever so slightly bigger (due to poses not model size), because the base sizes got bigger, so that they can include more details on the models, and so that they can be included/kitbashed with AoS models. Because they're not resculpting t...

Re: [house rules] WFRP 2nd edition converted to a dice-pool system

3e basically already did the same job you did, it just left out the step-die mechanics. Although, unfortunately, it revamped the stats so that they are no longer 1-100 as a side effect. If that's not a design goal, or you can find a way to reintroduce it, it seems like you might work to find a way t...

You only add the units digit, so in your case, 4.

Re: [house rules] WFRP 2nd edition converted to a dice-pool system

I know WFRP 3e didn't touch step-die systems. But as I read through your document, it seems like you would be well served to bring in some of the 3e dice mechanics.

Re: Warhammer: The Old World

I'd be fine with Pre-measuring *OR* random charge distances, just not both together. Given my preference, I think I'd like to see far more deference given to a model's M stat, but that's splitting hairs at this point. I agree with you, Totsuzenheni, I think some form of alternating unit activation w...

Warhammer: The Old World

Has anybody else been following the previews of Warhammer: The Old World? Thoughts, reactions, impressions? Parts of it look good. I like the addition/return of Skirmishing, Open Formation, Closed Formation. I like the addition of Counter-Charging as a potential Charge Reaction. I haven't heard anyt...

Re: WFRP 2024 Plans

On what's upcoming: while I am very happy that C7 is producing so much and I also appreciate the small PDF adventures, I have a growing feeling of disappointment that they don't have a small campaign or a full one book adventure further up in the pipeline. Or am I the only one preferring adventures...

I'm not immediately familiar with the Weight Characteristics Modifiers table, but I would imagine they'd be pretty compatible.

Read the "Non-Career Advancement" box at the top of page 48. It says yes you can, but it costs double XP.
It also recommends GM approval.
