Magic Resistance Talent

When Magic Resistance reduces the SL of the spell by 2 per talent level, can this prevent the spell being cast or just reduce the damage etc?

Changing career tier

Whats everyone's thoughts on when a player can level up a career? Running The Horned Rat and players have been busy with the investigations but two have racked up loads of xp and want to train/level up. They have the contacts and I would normally tell them to wait for an endevour but only half way t...

Re: Magic system info

Running The Horned Rat at the moment and the party's doktor has, in the past 3 weeks, been attacked by small but vicious dogs on two separate occasions (lots of encounters with Rat Catchers) and lost a fate point to the demon hound summoned by Bhar. No prizes for guessing what his phobia is going to...

Elven Mage changing discipline

The party's Elven Mage is learning another discipline/wind and is effectively going back to being an apprentice to do so.

If he wants to learn a spell that he already knows (ie blast) but in the new discipline would this still qualify as learning a new spell?

Re: Strike to stun

Would Strong Back talent assist with the Str v Endurance test to see if the recipient of the blow to the head is stunned? Adds SL to an opposed STR test

Re: NPCs with Luck Talent

Played fully through the prev 3 modules (again after 20 years or so in 1E) and only just started THR. At the speed the party is getting through them I suspect I will have to convert The Empire in Flames from 1E as dont think Cubicle 7 will get their updated version out in time. All good so far but p...

NPCs with Luck Talent

Am running The Horned Rat at the moment and noticed that the Clan Eshin Assassin and one of the Mages has Luck Talent.

I'd always been of the opinion that Fortune points were for the PCs only.

I take it this means that NPCs can, in some cases, get Fortune points?

Healing during combat

How many combat turns does it take for one character to use Heal skill and bandage another up? Physician has Field Dressing talent but seems unrealistic that can all be done in a 10 second combat round.

Rolling a crit in a skill test

If a character rolls a crit for a skill test (athletics or stealth) but still only gets 1SL is still still just a basic pass or a more impressive critical pass? Is this better than getting 4SL for instance?

Aethyric Armour spell

Aethyric Armour spell provides 1AP to each location of caster. Can the AP be increased for each 2SL by overcasting or is this not possible for a Touch Spell?

Re: Resolve/fortune avaible points and maximum pool.

I would think that the it would reduce immediately as you only have access to the fortune points due to your Fate Points.
No fate, no fortune.

Crits while opposing/parrying in melee

The rulebook states "a successful melee test" can cause a critical even in you are defender. Is a crit still caused if you are defending, roll a crit but importantly still lose the opposed melee test (ie get less SL than the attacker)?

4e Ingredients for Petty Magic

In the 4e rules it states that "ingredients cost the CN in silver for Arcane and Lore spells". My elf wizard player has taken that to mean that ingredients for petty magic spells (ie CN 0) are therefore worthless/free and has stocked up on a big bag of them meaning he never miscasts. Is this right a...
