I understood it to just refer to the fleeing option.

Re: It's Your Funeral - anybody played it?
Short answer: I liked Rough night a lot better. But the comparison is not entirely fair: rough night was the first of its kind. By the time we played the funeral, we had already played four adventures on this style, so the novelty effect was long gone. Everyone expected everything and distrusted any...

Re: It's Your Funeral - anybody played it?
It's the last adventure we played last year and I have to say, it felt strange. We played it after three chapters of Rough days and Hard nights, so we were on our toes to always expect something and trust no one. Yet, at the end, while we found several different plot points we caught the "child...

Re: Wizard skills/feats
I'd say Instinctive Diction is too powerful to have from the beginnings. And with Aetheric attunement, you're ready to channel when you become a proper Wizard.

Re: Casting and Advantage
Okay, that part on page 164 about damaging an opponent without an opposed test definitely seemed to me to apply to casting, too, but when we were discussing it my GM disagreed. I was Googling around looking for some kind of definitive answer, but the fact that I didn't see a lot of people asking th...

Re: Casting and Advantage
Hi! Page 236 of the rulebook says (on the bottom right) that advantage in combat applies to casting tests. It even gives another way of gaining advantage (if the target already has a spell from the same lore successfully cast on it the same round). And page 164 says you gain 1 advantage when you dam...

Re: Rules - Shield use
Edit: just saw that I misremembered your post. So ignore the text I wrote and replace it with "Yes, I think that's how it works"."and the continue with the link and my last phrase. ;) I think it's the other way around: you always get the +1 SL when defending while having a shield even...

Re: Channeling and Moving
I had a similar question some time ago: my not so mighty wizard had to move down a floor and through an open door. The distance was well within my move rate. I knew what spell I wanted to cast once I had reached the CN (unlikely to have been reached with one casting test). I don't remember how our G...

Re: Musings on Etiquette
I think the OP's idea is a good one. I would maybe even lean towards granting the corresponding etiquette talent always at the second level if the first level was completed (so removing the etiquette talent from 1st level careers) to symbolize that the character "arrived" in his profession...

Again a question about spells
Hello again! It hasn't come up in play yet but when reading the description of certain supporting/protective spells like Arrow shield, Dome or Earthblood I ask myself: does the spell effect move with the caster? I'd say yes because the range is “you“ and the target is AoE but what do you think? As a...

Re: Questions on magic rules and mutations
So in 2e, Night's Dark Masters explicitly says that trappings transform with you (though this is for Blood Gifts rather than spells). If you're looking for precedent, you could go with that. As for Wounds, I would rule that the bear would turn back into a human with 12 Wounds left. The extra bulk o...

Yeah, ok, then we're in agreement. Thanks for the clarification!SigmariteOrWrong wrote: ↑Sat Jun 27, 2020 11:13 pm
If their CN is 0, the effect is that you must reduce their casting language test to a failure or worse. If they succeed with even +0SL, the spell still works. If your counterspell works to reduce them to -SL, it fails.
