Re: Enemy Within Updates (plus other stuff)
Hello mate, when you've got a second, d'you mind giving your opinion on the mass combat rules? I've never found a "zoomed out battle resolution with scope for individual actions that affect the overall outcome" system that ever fitted/worked/appealed to me, was hoping this would be the ki...

Re: Enemy Within Updates (plus other stuff)
Development update out today. Slight delay in Empire in Ruins Companion but Archives of the Empire Volume II has been released in PDF. I grabbed it earlier, lots of stuff on Ogres, a good 30 pages or so. A decent sized section on Magic Items - a more sophisticated version of what was in 1st ed. Som...

My pleasure. If you do buy it, please post your thoughts, whatever they are. Well, okay, constructive thoughts, whatever they are! Regards, Robin Hello, Not the person you were responding to but I bought it & though I've only skimmed it I'm quite impressed—what the current iteration of WFRP lac...

Re: Reviews and opinions of WFRP 4e adventures
I think the Oldenhaller Contract has a pretty good claim on being the start of it, and that's from the original core book. The financial rewards for PCs completing the Oldenhaller Contract were not insignificant. I think, as Robin says, there's a difference between 'grim and perilous' and 'miserabl...

Re: Gnome thread archive
You could search the Wayback Machine website. It's not there; almost nothing on StS got archived. Does anyone who was there for a long time (I was only an occasional lurker, & only ~2018ish when my thoughts returned to RPGs) know of anyone who tried site-scraping it or any other of the more dra...

Re: Monuments of the Reikland
Hello, I'm not particularly comfortable promoting my own work, but Wolf suggested that I did in the 4e forum, so that gets me off the hook. My conscience is now clear . Last week Cubicle 7 released a pdf that I wrote - the first official thing I've had published for WFRP. Although it's designed for...

Re: Typos, Missing Text & Errors In 4th Edition Books
I'm looking to complete my 4th Edition collection but want to hold back buying any books which have very glaring typos or missing text and wait for reprints of the most obviously typo-ed books. So which books are the most error free and least likely to be offensive to this borderline OCD collector....

Re: Alternate Castle Wittgenstein maps
This map looks great. I am looking forward to seeing your version of the Inner Bailey. Thank you! I've realised since that some of my calculations and scales were off, so there'll be a "second edition" of the Outer Bailey along with the Inner. I'll see if I find some time to work on it ne...

Hello mate, I'd love to have a look but Google Drive says the files are locked?
I've just asked permission on two of them, via the sign-in.

Re: Shadows Over Bogenhafen help, please?
Hello everyone, thank you for the advice. After playing through last night's session I came to the conclusion that one player likes to "problematise the narrative", shall we say, & seems to spend every second dreaming up ways to derail whatever's going on & remain in a state of ana...

Re: Shadows Over Bogenhafen help, please?
Are you aware of Gideon's Companion to the first edition of the campaign? It can be downloaded here: https://onedrive.live.com/?id=C86ACFA4B04325B4%21240&cid=C86ACFA4B04325B4 . There is some advice on pp. 34 and 37, with some handouts. There are also a bunch of links here: https://awesomeliesbl...

Re: Shadows Over Bogenhafen help, please?
Are the player enjoying the game? Are you enjoying the game? Is this actually a problem that needs fixing? If it is a problem: What are you players goals? What do they want? Why should they engage with the plot? My players are definitely enjoying it, thank you. They don't really have any goals, oth...

Shadows Over Bogenhafen help, please?
Hey people, hope everyone's well in these weird times. Long post incoming, sorry! I'm running Shadows Over Bogenhafen for the first time (with hacked WFRP 2 rules) & it's getting late on the second day of the Schaffenfest, & I'm a bit worried. I think the problem might be my group's lack of ...

Re: WFRP 2 career advances
A quick hack: add (50 - opponent's skill). So if your opponent has Melee 35 and you have 35, you'll both get a 50% chance (35 + [50 - 35 = 15] = 50%). If you have 25 and your opponent has 35, you roll 40% and they roll 60%. Using the to-hit table, two 35% opponents would each have a 50% chance of h...

Re: Fate points and critical hits
It seems we are two who are the evil ones :D Seriously - having tried a more soft approach to Fate Points earlier (yes - burn a FP now and your hand is still attached) I find that making hits really count is far my preferred method. I laid it out to the players before my current 1st ed campaign and...

Re: Fate points and critical hits
It appears I am the evil one. In the instance of losing a body part & death from bleeding/shock/whatever, a spent FP means a player will miraculously survive/use their own belt as a tourniquet before passing out/tied off their torn artery with their teeth etc., but they still lose their body par...

Re: WFRP 2 career advances
Stat advances are not cumulative, they are absolute. Each career you enter allows a certain number of advances to be taken in specific attributes, if the new career's max is higher **than the number of advances already taken** it raises the number of max advances that can be taken in that attribute...
