Re: When does Halflings' Resistance (Chaos) talent apply?
Resist Chaos is about resisting Corruption. The Halfling auto-passes the first test each session with SL equal to TB, then gets a bonus SL on all successful resistance tests afterwards in that session.

Yeah, I would've thought they'd have applied the discount at their end. It's always easier to get the discount before ordering, rather than afterward. Couldn't agree more with this. Our coupon didn't have an expiry, but unfortunately (or fortunately if you remember it) our old website expired, and ...

Re: Entering a Class, Does It Stick?
In the RAW, the XP costs are for every change. Downtime actions are Class specific. Our home game is a bit different. So far we have played changes in career by storyline opportunity only, in part to save the PC's 100xp, but also to make PC's involved in their careers. To switch career, or even adva...

Re: Reloading
I think black powder weapons fire too fast already, with an relatively experienced gunner firing every 3 rounds anyway, at career rank 2, and every 2 rounds at higher levels of proficiency. If you are relatively inexperienced, or have a low BS, you just shouldn't touch black powder weapons, the risk...

Interface is very nice. Better than FG, R20, VTTC IMHO.
Already dropped the cash for the WFRP4 bundle.

Re: Reflections on downtime
Events - It's best to look on the events table as a bunch of options and inspiration for the GM, not just a simple table to roll on. Adjust things to suit your campaign, and some leads interesting leads in other directions, ignore events that sound boring, embrace events that present new challenges ...

Undoubtedly the Masters of the Magical Colleges are looking at ways a mage might SAFELY channel and store magic in an item for use at the opportune time. Rest assured, if any headway has been made on this front only the highest ranking mages would have access to such items.

Re: Musings on Etiquette
IMHO Etiquette talent unlocks familiarity with jargon, language and customs of that social group. An obvious mechanical option would be to have the Etiquette Talent mitigate penalties for working outside your normal class structure (as covered on pp50-51), if you have the right talent. So Soliders u...

Re: Musings on Etiquette
For the most part Etiquette rules are forgotten at the table, but I'd like to see them in play more. The character I am grooming for eventual Spy/Grey Order career is busy learning various Etiquette skills so they can blend with any crowd. I think the Etiquette rules are most important in play when ...

Re: Totaling bonus damage from SL
On Applying Damage the book says to add your SL to the weapon and attribute bonus. Is the total SL the total from the attacker only or do we total based on the final SL from attacker and defender? So if the players succeeds at a +2 SL vs the defender’s -3 is the bonus damage +2 or +5? Normally this...

Re: Endeavours Talent
We have been using multiple endeavours to get training... First, if you don't know the right trainer to start with, you spend an endeavour and make a Gossip Test and find a trainer. Then you spend another endeavour and make a attribute test to start to learn the talent, or make a skill test if you h...

There are corrections and changes in the later PDF's, so I'd assume at some point a change in the Printers proofs has got to happen.

Re: Character Creation
Heck, sitting down with your group its possible you can tweak and re-write bits of character creation. I created a Strigany PC, dropped Doomed, added a new trait that granted small bonuses and lots of racism from folk of the folk of the Empire. Our Halfling started with Throw or Sling Skill, though ...

Re: Selling
Of course, certain things will sell for more to the right buyer, and antiquity, history, and rarity may make them more valuable than beginning. One of our four different parties found some old Dawi weapons that needed restoring. They are from a long dead clan, so to collectors worth a bit more. Rest...

Re: Combat question and -ve SL
An important note is that SL bonuses from Talents only kick in when the roll was a success. We have a PC with three levels of Dirty Fighting. It's a Very powerful talent, adding both +1SL and +1 Damage hit each level. He doesn't fail that often on a success, but when he does he misses out on 6 extra...

Re: Size question
In theory, you could give Big to a Halfling to make a Size (Medium) Halfling instead of a Small (Size) Halfling. Does that make sense? Not Quite. A Size (Medium) Halfling is a Size (Medium) Halfling. Big is completely separate from Size. As the trait says, it is a large example of it's species, an ...

Re: Questions on magic rules and mutations
This is one reason why Chanelling is useful. If your opponent has 4SL or more from Chanelling, you'd really have to out-do them on the language test to dispell stuff. Chanel the winds if you have time and ability, it makes your spells much beefier, more resistant to dispelling. Over-Chanelling for ...

- Ending spells: on p. 236 corebook under “duration“ it says that I may not simply end an active spell of mine but may only try to dispel it. Does that really mean that when I have cast Beast Tongue or Beast Form, which specify that I cannot speak while the spell is in effect, and thus not cast or ...
