The Advantage rule system breaks WFRP 1ed. In 4th edition rolls based on differences can "swallow" this. In WFRTP 1ed there is no such thing. You end up with rolls like 99% on both sides and it doesn't make any sense. I'm not sure who was balancing Advantage, but it leads to very brutal fi...

CapnZapp, makrellen this is exactly what I observed. That's why +10% for a charge (it's granted as the elves initiative is so high) and +10% for elves by default is already +20%. Maybe, you guys are right about how really big is a difference, but I have a feeling that the combination of rules for Advantage and elf high Initiative and slightly higher skills (many) is a combo and it's not just +10%. But maybe it's specific for us as eals already guessed that we do like deadly ...

I'm not sure if I have a fixation on levels and stats etc. as I've been GM for diceless Cthulhu stories just next to Bolt Action tabletop war games. I like both of those gameplay types, but when we choose a system it's like a common agreement within the team, what we expect from the game. Sorry, but...

FasterThanJesus - did you tried to calculate somehow if +600XP for humans for start and +10%xp cost for elf/dwarf is enough to compensate differences? Or it's too much?
