Re: Enemy in Shadows: Thoughts and reactions

There is one iconic thing that is missing: art of the silly contact gestures in Altdorf. I was looking forward to the way that would look in the WFRP 4 style. Now I'm a little disappointed. Luckily I have the original. That art originally appears in Death on the Reik . Presumably we'll see some rec...

Re: 4th: timeline, campaign and play order?

A: absolutely possible, but you could also add single scenarios from rough nights at different points of the enemy within. One scenario actually is in Ubersreik. B: TEW starts in 2512, iirc. There is one Ubersreik adventure scenario, which is designed to lead from Ubersreik (starter set + Ubersreik ...

Re: NergalCon

Anyways, I would hope to see which VTTs everyone is going to use. I was planning on Foundry, but may have to switch to Maptool or Roll20. As I just wrote, I am on fantasy grounds. But because of the missing ruleset we are playing D&D with the available adventures. We do experiment with Ubersreik ad...

Re: NergalCon

I am regularly playing on fantasy grounds and monitoring their forum. My layman's understanding from there is that a publisher cannot prevent someone from creating a ruleset in a VTT. E.g. there's a WFRP2 ruleset for fantasy grounds. The protected intellectual property is just the descriptions, stor...

Just a heads up that Cubicle7 just went to war with "unlicensed" VTTs.
Do you have a source for this? I just follow C7 on Twitter and did not see anything in this regard. Was this a topic somewhere else?

Re: Beyond The Enemy Within campaign, upcoming releases

My order of TEW 1 and its companion, Ubersreik adventures and the GM screen arrived yesterday. So one small mystery solved for me at least. The content is as expected from the PDFs, haha. I only just realized that there are no foldable maps included. It's not that I need them personally these days, ...

Re: Who has run both enemy within and doomstones

They are completely different. Doomstones is more DnD like. I don't think that is bad, but the enemy within is far better. I would say the doomstones are on a similar level as the final part of the enemy within.
I would remove something rotten in kislev from the enemy within.

Re: Beyond The Enemy Within campaign, upcoming releases

Well, I kind of prefer the quality of the product over the project management. The other way around would be much worse.

Re: Beyond The Enemy Within campaign, upcoming releases

I was in contact with the c7 customer support this week. I got a fast reply to my inquiry. That included the info that shipping for TEW1 should be very soon. That's not very exact, but maybe promising, if you want.

Re: Beyond The Enemy Within campaign, upcoming releases

Slightly related: I am still reluctant to buy Ubersreik adventures vol. 1. I own all PDFs and don't want to throw away my money like a madman.
Did C7 offer any discount for the printed book in cases, where someone's already bought all PDFs?

Re: Beyond The Enemy Within campaign, upcoming releases

Most of the Reikland adventure hooks and NPCs are rather generic. There is a lot available from old editions on the empire as such. I have no strong need for more sourcebooks. I would prefer more adventures in other places like Sylvania or expeditions across the border mountains of the empire etc. I...

Re: Death on the Reik Update

DotR is a fantastic part of the campaign. Might be my favorite. I do not expect much new stuff in the 4e version. That's why I am much more interested in the horned Rat.

Re: Death on the Reik Update

Gideon, I just reread your blog post. I fully agree with your assessments. IMHO C7 should get Death on the Reik done fast and get to the really interesting parts. As an owner of the originals, still I am looking forward to all the new versions and I do not regret at all buying the two enemy in Shado...

Re: Simplified resolution system

I am in the situation of playing with D&D 5e rules. I have put a few thoughts into how to play in the old world with D&D rules. Also I thought of converting WFRP stats to D&D.

What you describe is very familiar, except for using a d10 instead of a d20.

I intend to go through your list and see where I can provide input. I need some time during an evening for this, which is rare.
I do not know historic versions of German. So you will only get a contemporary view.

Re: Imperial Calendar

'Abend' means evening according to the translator. If that's the case then i think that Geheimnisabend could be an interesting alternative name for Geheimnisnacht, and it could be 'Geheimnisnacht' and 'VorGeheimnisabend'. The word Vorabend has a meaning either as the evening before a certain day. I...

Re: Imperial Calendar

Well, I am German, even from the equivalent of the Reikland. And what is the "real" equivalent of Reikland? Actually I've never thought one might be able to show it on the map of Germany. With the Reik being the Rhine, I see the Rhineland as the equivalent to the Reikland. I would point to the area...
