Re: unbalanced races

I've twice typed up my set of proposals to fix racial imbalance issues, including halving the stat differences between elves/dwarfs and humans and halfing advantage after clamping it to IB.

That 1st ed rule (that I'd forgotten) pretty much fixes advantage at least. Thanks cap'n

Re: unbalanced races

FasterThanJesus: Could you explain a bit? What optional rules do you mean? My flow is: 1) I + 1d10 to decide order -> this one always win elf or beasts 2) charge is +1 adv, which gives elf compared to humans already +20%. That's why elf can easily win versus the first weakling. 3) after first kill ...

Re: unbalanced races

Advantage is a bit much IMO. The optional rule to limit to I should have been mandatory. But, as Elves have a high I anyway, it's still pretty high. Personally I think halfing the bonus (after imposing the I limit) would be better.

Re: Enemy In Shadows Companion Available

Someone asked on the Facebook group, and someone from C7 said it was coming as a download. No timeframe though. Right, thanks for the update. I'll carry on with the conversions as it's an interesting exercise, anyway. I noticed that there was a more complete introduction to Padraig @Cubicle7 yester...

The pregens will be coming as a separate download, apparently.
Thanks for the info!

Where did you find out? Also, do you know what the timeframe is?

Re: Enemy In Shadows Companion Available

Anyway, I'm going to remake the characters from 1st edition in 4th over the weekend. I may even use those nice google doc forms for it. Try these https://amazing-tales.net/2019/11/14/warhammer-fantasy-roleplay-character-sheet-collection/ Thanks; using them :). I've noticed a couple of minor issues:...

Re: Cubicle 7 dropping the Lord of the Rings

The plot definitely thickens. That farcebook comment is a lot more specific than Cubicle7's vague contractual issues (not to mention contradictory). Something is not right there.

Re: Enemy In Shadows Companion Available

There weren't any pregen characters in the Enemy In Shadows either were there? I guess they must be doing away with the pregens altogether then. Possibly. I fear you're right. The only other option is if they publish them as a separate download like they did with the starter pack. I think it's poss...

Re: Enemy In Shadows Companion Available

First impression as it is still coming out of my printer: no pregen characters! I really like the art work for the Berebeli (which also has a map, Gideon). We have a few pages of commentaries from the old writers including some Easter Eggs. Foreward/Introduction/Commentaries (9 pages) Chapter 1 - Ea...

Enemy In Shadows Companion Available

Drive Thru RPG has just sent an email informing me of the release of The EiS Companion's availability. Unfortunatley I'm in work a little late so it will have to wait. Anyway, I'm looking forward to reading through it and will put forward my thoughts on that and EiS as I was wanting to review them t...

Re: Cubicle 7 dropping the Lord of the Rings

more to the point for the board, who's this Pádraig Murphy chump? nobody i know and a quick search didn't clear away any of the fog for me. He has an introduction in the latest TEW dev diary from yesterday. In brief summary he was a WFRP player from 14 and has a career in print publishing (not RPGs...

Re: Cubicle7 Cancels TOR2

In the Den of Tzeentch surely. I don't know if this bodes well for their other lines or not. I've had the impression that they've become er.... less concerned about quality and more concerned about market share. I'd still be interested to know why the WFRP 4th edition authors left. Yep, probably. I...

Cubicle7 Cancels TOR2

I wasn't sure where to put this, as it's not WFRP related, only Cubicle7, but it's probably something only relevant to WFRP v4. So apologies to anyone who thinks this is misplaced. https://www.cubicle7games.com/unexpected-tor2-update/ I know a few of us are of the opinion that Cubicle7 are busy biti...

Also an album by Queen and an old Movie. Wouldn't surprise me if there are more references to the name, too.

I think I caught a review somewhere, maybe Gideon's blog. I'll pick it up at some point anyway, but will probably hang on and see if DriveThruRPG put it on offer for Black Friday or something.

Realms of Sorcery Now on DriveThruRPG

This weeks Not Enemy in Shadows Companion release is Realms of Sorcery. An oldie that came out just after I stopped playing, so I'm a little curious.

Re: Dogs of War: WFRP Weapons vs WFB Weapons

Is the intention that the players will be playing rank and file troops or 'heroes'? If they're just infantry, distribution of damage would be the trickiest thing as you'll have to create some rules for that; WFB just accumulates damage against a unit. Also, did you ever play Mighty Empires? It was a...

Sorry, I wasn't arguing it was going to be a threat to GW's profit, just acknowledging that there had been splinter.
