Re: Career Specific Traits Homebrew

I would love to see your magic rules! We are still facing some challenges with using the old WFRP 2ed rules for that. The vif factor is nearly gone from combat with the changes we have made, but magic still faces some challenges. For now, we are playing with the WFRP 2ed rules with these changes to...

Re: Career Specific Traits Homebrew

I'm going to be using these in a couple of month for a new campaign, so first of thanks again for sharing! Secondly, would you be okay with me editing them for vanilla wfrp 2nd ed and resharing in this threat? Lastly, could you share the rules for spell casting you are using? Thank you 🙂 Hey! Super...

Re: Treasure Generator

This is really awesome, i would legit pay somebody to make a random mutant and chaos spawn generator for 2nd edition that pulls from the Tome of Corruption d1000 list that let's you choose how many mutations you want and then automatically applies the stat changes for those mutations. Would save me ...

Re: Switching to Apprentice Wizard career

That's great that he wants to be a wizard! Magic in Warhammer Fantasy is one of the really cool unique things that it has and it's fun to explore that with a character. In my opinion it would make the most sense to rule that he always had a little of the witch sight. Likely he saw things that were s...

Re: Adjusting the Initiate career

I think you're last statement pretty much nails the main reasons as to why they did this originally. Divine Magic is supposed to be safer, and is in actual game mechanics less risky than using arcane magic. If divine spellcasters got all the same benefits at the same time as their arcane counterpart...

Re: Career Specific Traits Homebrew

Thanks for the input! Always appreciate reading what other gamers think of the ideas. I agree with everything you said too. I purposefully never made anything concrete for unlocking the special trait because that's something that's super easy for each dm to decide on what's right for their game and ...

Re: Career Specific Traits Homebrew

Yeah super true, some of these are very strong, and I'll have to tweak things I'm sure as time goes on and I get to see more of them in action, but I tried to make them fairly specific so you only shine in a few things that it would make sense for that career to excel at which seems fair, it also he...

Career Specific Traits Homebrew

Hey again everyone! Looking a little quiet over here in ol'2nd Edtion Town! I was going to just add this to my old post but figured I'd see if any old timers are still breathing over here. I posted several months ago about some homebrew I was working on and wanted to show it again now that it's all ...

Right? I read so many threads about hundreds of topics. I loved stumbling across old core hammer posts from pre zweihander. Fascinating stuff. RIP

Re: 2nd ed. Opinions on home rules

Yeah I just like keeping everything on a level play field. Just personal preference for how i like my games. The players are nobody special and so have to play by the same rules as everyone and everything else! If this was d&d or a game where the players are the chosen ones then I'd be more will...

Re: 2nd ed. Opinions on home rules

Haha yeah exactly. When you leave a decision like that up to just the whim of your dm then when a player dies and doesnt have any fate points it opens things up for the player to blame you for not giving them out. If it is part of a mechanic that can be tracked then you and the player both can look ...

Re: 2nd ed. Opinions on home rules

Yeah I'm not sure about the alignment system that I took from zweihander. I wanted to try it out since it seemed like a nice way to mechanically measure a way to earn fate points which in 2e there is not a way to do this other than slip your DM a twenty. I like systems that can be mechanically contr...

2nd ed. Opinions on home rules

Hey everyone, So I posted about a month ago about some additions I was making to the career system in second edition in regards to special talents for each career, which I have made some progress on. Now I also have some other home brew rules that I have taken from both several greatly creative indi...

Re: Crossing 2E with Zweihander, looking for advise!

Hey thanks for the comment! Big fan of your website and contributions to wfrp. I've used a lot of information that I've found from your old strike to stun posts and stuff from your site. I couldn't agree more, the second I saw it in zweihander I knew it was something I wanted in my homebrew of 2e. B...

Crossing 2E with Zweihander, looking for advise!

Hey everyone! I'm relatively new to the field of Warhammer Roleplay, been GMing for it about a year now but have been DMing for over 15 years in various other fields such as 3.0-3.5, and Pathfinder, Paladium, and Rogue Trader. Long story short I have fallen madly in love with 2E but considering it i...
