I think the Tower could be Brass Keep. And from what I got from Companion and PbtT, certainly we will go underground in Middenheim.
Skavenblight is too far away.

Re: Enemy Within Updates (plus other stuff)
The End Times start approximately 2519 and last approximately 10 years. If we take into account that TEW starts 2512, then we have 7 years till the End Times. There is too much material that you can fit in such a big timeline. Even inside the End Times you can find great adventure. That being said, ...

Re: WHFR 4e - Are Wizards playable?
Hi All. Brand new to 4e (30 years ago played 1e). Just read the magic section and like most was a little surprised by both the limited selection printed (yes I know as a GM I can make any spell up I want) and the high CN and time taken of non petty magic. Some great comments and suggestions in this...

Re: 2nd -> 4th ed. preparation.
Hello :-) I just bought the 4th edition core rulebook and got some questions. For the last years I have be GM’ing for a group of players using 2nd edition. They how just entered there 3rd careers At the moment I am reading the new rules and trying out some test-encounters, converting 2nd to 4th edi...

Re: WHFR 4e - Are Wizards playable?
Actual play has proven something different. Arcane spells are way better than Dart for example if you manage to pull them off. My wizard has blinding light and when he casts it the fight is over really fast with the blinded conditions he is inflicting. Most of the arcane spells are a bit like this c...

Re: Beyond The Enemy Within campaign, upcoming releases
It seems that after the events with Andy Law and Ben Scerri there is shift in focus. While we were expecting slowly things to move away from the Empire, all future publication seems to stay there, even a sourcebook on Dwarves! And this schedule is certainly more than a year.

Above are the correct character sheets. The Starter Set characters have spent 2200 XP, so certainly will not be the same.

Re: Mad Men of Gotheim
All in all excellent time, I really enjoy Solo creatures in this edition. Did you have to modify the stats of the creature at all? I might run this in the future so any suggestions are welcome :) As is the creature is very powerful. You need to remember well the Size rules cause this is half the fi...

Re: Mad Men of Gotheim
Played two weeks ago on Roll20, WFRP 4th Ed rules. The village got flooded, the players lost their horse, only 6 villagers escaped alive! The players got a real biting, but after a Fate, Res, and a bit of Corruption, they came back one piece. Though the Dwarf was Unconscious for 2 days. All in all e...

Re: Combat example
Just to add my 2 cents. I see no problem concerning snowball effect. 90% of the time is taking the player's side and the rest 10% the players have several options to change it. The way I say it, most important thing is the player's narrative and the game is spot-on on this, along with some serious ...

Re: Comparison with Zweihander
Obviously the game is Warhammer with the serial numbers filed off. But calling it "theft" is ignorant and incorrect. The game has been published by a legitimate publisher; do you seriously think they would have gone ahead if they weren't confident they could hold off Games Workshop's atta...

Re: Comparison with Zweihander
Zweihander is more generic and can apply to any fantasy world. I keep reading this in different forums. I'm not sure how generic it is in truth. Take religion and magic chapters: it's to every extent WFRP stuff, just renamed. The original wfrp sources are easily recognizable for every god and spell...

Re: Comparison with Zweihander
It depends what you want your playstyle to be. Zweihander is more generic and can apply to any fantasy world. Warhammer 4 is dedicated to WFRP universe. So if you want the best feel in this universe go with the second. I am on the minority though, that I find the rules the best from previous edition...

Re: Resilience and Reslove??
From my experience, Resolve did not get much use, but Resilience was used very often, especially when the players wanted to change the tide of battle. To be able to pick your roll is a huge advantage.

Re: Combat example
My players are about 2000xp without any remaining Fate or Res points and even standard skeletons are a challenge when they are 2 to 1. It would be easier to understand problems with actual game examples. In my campaign, now 5 months old, the most challenging part is advantage, but my players love it...

Nope, it is not available yet. I except it the coming week.
Interested to see whether there will be any connection. Heart of Glass though I feel that it adds a lot of background story with wizards etc.

Re: unbalanced races
In my game the elf used fate in the first session and now is out of resilience as well. The dwarf stands a bit better, although he also use some resilience to get big guys down. From my experience of 20 sessions, having fate and resilience gives you additional life, as it is certain that at some poi...

Re: Enemy in Shadows: Thoughts and reactions
Just read your preview. Personally, I see it as a plus the fact that there not much changes with the original storyline. We expect the big changes to happen in later products, especially towards the end.
What I have found frustrating and thank you for mentioning, is the lack of a starting date.

Re: Wfrp 4e Starter set PC's
The Starter Set characters are perfect for new players, but experienced players will find everything too easy.
We started with our characters playing Night of Blood, then my players decided to go If Looks Could Kill among other options.
Now, we are making the rounds and we are at the finish.
