Hey, that's an awesome idea!

Why I think combat is less exciting in v4

I've been playing a WFRP 4 campaign for months now, and I finally realised why combat was more exciting for our players in v2, compared to v4! In v2, every attack roll was exciting because every roll counts, all players are watching when you roll, and everyone knows exactly what your chances are: wh...

Winds of Magic

The Winds of Magic PDF came out yesterday. I've just had a quick look through it, and it looks absolutely great! At first sight, it looks to be one of the better source books for 4E so far. I especially like the information about the different Lores, each with a new lore-specific career, 24 new spel...

Re: Middenheim: City of the White Wolf

Book looks great, but the Middenheim map? Hmm one of the worst WFRP maps ever, imo. Can you tell why you do not like it? Is it the colour design, missing information? Something else? The graphical design, it has a bit of a cartoony look imo. The relative sizes don't look right: Ulricsmund is like 6...

Re: WFRP 4 analysis

Very interesting to read, thanks! I've run my first 4e adventure this week (making the rounds), and have done about 10 'test battles' and with some friends, and they *loved* the combat system! They thought the advantage system brought some excitement and flow in the combat. I've done some things dif...

Re: WHFR 4e - Are Wizards playable?

After finally reading the Magic chapter, and reading this discussing, I completely understand CapnZapp's point: CN 0 spells are more powerful (or at least as powerful) than high level spells because of high chances of overcast. Still, I'd like to fix this without introducing a completely different s...

Re: Damage while defending

You gain 1 advantage, he looses all his advantage, and nobody gets hurt (unless criticals were rolled).

Re: Beyond The Enemy Within campaign, upcoming releases

I think it's awesome they add so much stuff to one region (Reikland) as a base to start my adventures from, as long as they expand to other regions in the Empire next year and to the rest of the world after that.

Re: Rules questions

Thanks for the replies. The answer to your question is that you die from taking more criticals than your Toughness Bonus. Do you mean number of hits under 0 (eg. I do 6 dmg to the troll who has 0 wounds -> 6>TB so he dies) OR do you mean the number of times one gets to roll on the critical table (eg...

Re: Rules questions

Thanks, that helps alot! Some more questions (the rules really are a mess...): 5. This might be a bit stupid, but how do you kill an enemy (using the critical hit system)? If I understand it correctly, someone dies when you roll 100 on the critical hit table, or when the oppponent gets unconscious a...

Rules questions

I've finally received the Starter Set and core book and I'm reading through the rules for the very first time, and already (lots of) questions pop up! (The rules seem to be a bit less clear compared to WFRP v1?) 1. Surprised condition: it says any opponent trying to attack a surprised character gets...
